Yes, the vast majority of the city’s major attractions, venues, and accommodations remain untouched and are fully operational, offering vibrant and safe experiences for travelers and events. What areas of Los Angeles are open right now?

The overwhelming majority of our iconic neighborhoods, attractions, and cultural experiences are open and operating normally. From world-class dining and sports scenes to cultural landmarks and attractions, Los Angeles is, as always, eager to share its warmth, creativity, and energy with you. The more than 1,000 Member businesses associated with Los Angeles Tourism are ready to welcome you and eager to plan “Only in LA” experiences for meeting attendees and groups.

Iconic sites and experiences across the city – the Hollywood Sign, The Walk of Fame, the Santa Monica Pier, and many more – were thankfully unaffected by the fires and remain accessible to all visitors from near and far. Major venue and attraction partners are open as well and looking forward to hosting groups, including SoFi Stadium, Universal Studios Hollywood, Warner Bros. Studio, the Intuit Dome and more.

Is the Los Angeles Convention Center open to hold events?

The Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) is open and available for your organization's needs. LACC is a LEED Gold EB-OM certified venue. As such, industry standard air filters are used throughout the building to ensure a high quality of air circulation. Furthermore, indoor air quality is consistently monitored throughout the day through our HVAC system. For more information on the Los Angeles Convention Center, click here.

What areas of Los Angeles are closed right now?

As recovery efforts continue, restricted access is currently in place for Eastern Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Pasadena, and areas of Topanga Canyon and Castaic Lake. For the most updated information on road impacts, check the Caltrans QuickMap, where you will find closures and alerts on a map, or can enter a highway number to see if that road is affected. During this time, we urge our partners and visitors to travel responsibly and respectfully by avoiding the impacted areas.

Is the air quality in Los Angeles safe?

Air quality across much of Los Angeles County remains stable, with many areas reporting “good” conditions. However, air quality can vary by location and change daily due to weather patterns, wildfire activity and other environmental factors. As always, if you smell or see smoke, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health advises that you avoid outdoor exposure and limit physical exertion. As efforts continue to fully contain the original fires, we ask people to keep a close eye on air quality through sites such as AirNow.gov. For a detailed air quality map for L.A. County, visit the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s website or download their mobile app. South Coast AQMD also shares health and safety tips for dealing with wildfire smoke and ash. Residents and visitors with pre-existing health conditions, young children, and the elderly should always take precautions.

Is public transportation in Los Angeles running?

Yes, the LA Metro is in service. All rail lines are running regular service, though some bus lines remain impacted. You can find service-alert posts on Metro's social media channels (@metrolosangeles), and on the Metro’s Alerts and Advisories and Service Impacts pages.

Your support means everything as we move forward together, united in our determination to recover the impacted communities for the city we love. For those interested in supporting LA’s recovery efforts from afar, please consider supporting the American Red Cross here.
