As far as you’re concerned, the biggest perk of regularly traveling for work is the opportunity to explore new neighborhoods and communities. But obviously, work must come first, so over the years, you’ve learned that the more productive you can be while en route to your destination, in your hotel room at night, or in the morning before meetings start, the more time you’ll have to play in a new city.

Of course, in order to be able to maximize your efficiency, you need a hotel that is designed for savvy business travelers, and you prefer one that feels homey. Conveniently located less than 10 miles from LAX, Courtyard by Marriott Century City/Beverly Hills understands your M.O. and serves up everything you need to be supremely efficient onsite, so that once your work is done, the world around you becomes your oyster.

As soon as you enter the lobby, you find the hotel focuses on style as much as it offers professional conveniences. Case in point: the reception desks are all rich dark woods, and marble surfaces, adjacent to the large digital interactive GoBoard® which provides you with weather, local news updates, and the ability to search nearby destinations in seconds.

As streamlined as the reception area may be, nothing about the open-concept, ground level of the Courtyard by Marriott Century City feels industrial or sterile. On the contrary, it’s downright cozy. To your left is the Business Library, which is impossible to miss due to the enormous, cheerful framed artwork of bright red California Poppies. With numerous workstations, books to peruse, and printers for boarding passes, the vibrant professional space is clearly designed to make you feel comfortable and at home while you work.

The same homey feeling can be found throughout the open concept lobby. The Lobby Lounge features comfy couches, brightly colored easy chairs, coffee tables, and large windows which showcase the greenery outside, making the space feel more like a living room than a lobby. The Lobby Lounge seamlessly transitions to the Lobby Home Theatre, where functional, sectional couches with colorful throw pillows are positioned for catching the news, a ball game, or holding an impromptu meeting with colleagues.

After taking in the professional, yet playful surroundings, you make your way to your King Guest Room, and are delighted to find that the design scheme is similar in your room. There's abundant green from palm trees and shrubs visible through the sliding glass door leading to your private patio, giving the room a healthy energy. The bright red love seat in the sitting area and artwork above the bed offset the otherwise neutral tones of the room. The vibe is exactly what you need to work efficiently at your well-lit workstation, seated at your ergonomic chair. Plus, there’s a mini-fridge and a microwave at your fingertips. It’s as if someone designed your room after reading a specific checklist of amenities that would make your life on the road, as comfortable and convenient as possible.

The free high speed Wi-Fi has you online in seconds, but before you set up your computer and organize your workstation, you take a quick peek in the bathroom, and are delighted to find a lighted mirror/vanity, Paul Mitchell toiletries, and plenty of soft towels. Returning to your desk, you flop quickly on the bed, to confirm that the duvet is in fact, as soft as it looks.

Before settling into work, you decide to head downstairs to the 24-hour Market for a snack and a beverage, to munch on while you work. While you’re at it, you also pop into the onsite Bistro for a quick look at the menu. Ever conscious of the business traveler’s need to multitask, the Bistro offers individual tables and a large communal table with a charging station, no doubt designed with business travelers like you –who want to work while eating—in mind.

You’re happy to see Starbucks coffee available for the morning, along with a nice selection of options, including the signature Bistro Breakfast Sandwich, and the Green Goddess Chicken BLT for lunch. Tonight though, you’ve got your sights set on the Bistro's tasty sounding seasonal dinner offerings. But first, it’s time to get back to work.

Emerging several hours later after getting a jump on your work for the next day, you take a moment to relax in the outdoor courtyard to enjoy the pleasant evening, noting the whirlpool in the case you need a soak later this week. You also find the well-equipped gym to have everything you need for your cardio and weight training routine in the morning.
