The Hollywood Bowl is hosting a weekend of music legends! Cyndi Lauper brings her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour to the Bowl on Friday, August 29 and Saturday, August 30. On Sunday, Smooth Summer Jazz features Dave Koz & Friends Summer Horns with special guest Regina Belle.

& Juliet - Ahmanson Theatre (Aug. 29-31, 2025)
Writer David West Read, best known for his work on Schitt’s Creek, imagines a very different outcome for Romeo’s love in the Tony-nominated jukebox musical & Juliet. Now playing at The Music Center’s Ahmanson Theatre through September 7, the Broadway hit offers both evening and matinee shows, so check the Center Theatre Group website for the full list of dates and showtimes. Rooftop Cinema Club (Aug. 29 - Sep. 1, 2025)
Rooftop Cinema Club offers a premier outdoor movie experience at LEVEL in Downtown LA. Dodgers vs Diamondbacks - Dodger Stadium (Aug. 29-31, 2025)
The Dodgers host the Arizona Diamondbacks for a three-game home stand that begins on Friday, August 29, which features Dodgers Second Date Night and a drone show. The Sunday matinee will have a Kiké Hernández Bobblehead giveaway, Kids Run the Bases, and Viva Los Dodgers with live music, player interviews, interactive games and a chance to win prizes.

American Cinematheque (Aug. 29 - Sep. 1, 2025)
American Cinematheque presents a full calendar of Labor Day screenings at its three theatres: The Egyptian in Hollywood, the Los Feliz 3 and the Aero in Santa Monica. The Egyptian is featuring the LA premiere of a new 4K restoration of Akira Kurosawa's High and Low on Friday, August 29; the 50th anniversary of Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon (Aug. 30) and Seven Samurai on August 31. The Aero will be screening Close Encounters of the Third Kind in 70mm (Aug. 29 & 31) and A Chinese Ghost Story Triple Feature on August 30. At the Los Feliz 3, the French documentary Menus-Plaisirs – Les Troisgros will be screening on August 30; Compensation (Aug. 31) and 52 Pick-Up on Labor Day.

Mac DeMarco - The Greek Theatre (Aug. 29-31, 2025)
Canadian singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco kicks off his "Guitar" tour with three sold-out shows at The Greek Theatre on Labor Day Weekend, August 29-31. Resale tickets are available at AXS.

LA Sparks - Crypto.com Arena (Aug. 29 & 31, 2025)
The Sparks are at home for two games at Crypto.com Arena over Labor Day Weekend: against the Indiana Fever on Friday, August 29; and the Washington Mystics on Sunday. TIpoff is 7pm for Friday and 5pm for Sunday.

Doctor Faustus - Griffith Park (Aug. 29-31, 2025)
The Independent Shakespeare Co. closes out its 2025 season with FREE Labor Day Weekend performances of Doctor Faustus at the Old Zoo in Griffith Park. In this playful, seductive fever dream, Faustus conjures legends, dines with emperors, and throws down with the Seven Deadly Sins. Packed with spectacle and supernatural flair, Christopher Marlowe’s classic becomes a satirical and soul-stirring thrill ride where unchecked ego meets ultimate consequence. Presented in-the-round with open seating surrounding the stage on all sides.

Jazz at LACMA: Trevor Ware & Positive People (Aug. 29)
Museum Row will be bustling over Labor Day Weekend, starting with Jazz at LACMA on Friday, August 29 with Trevor Ware & Positive People, a band of dynamic musicians led by GRAMMY-winning composer and bassist Trevor Ware. The band’s mission is to simply make audiences feel good by sharing spirit on stage. This is jazz, but it’s more than musicians playing notes; they believe music has many purposes, one of which is lifting the countenance of the collective audience. Vocalist Sidney Jacobs writes and arranges songs which incorporate elements of bop, R&B, swing and soul to create timeless music. He is also the newest member of the legendary group, The 5th Dimension.

Academy Museum (Aug. 29-31, 2025)
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is screening movies in the David Geffen and Ted Mann Theaters on Friday and Saturday: Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (Aug. 29), Showgirls in 35mm (Aug. 29), Jungle Cruise (Aug. 30), Drop Dead Gorgeous (Aug. 30), Tenet in 70mm (Aug. 31) and Solaris (Aug. 31).
The museum is also hosting Sips on the Terrace, taking place on Saturday, August 30 from 1-7pm at the Dolby Family Terrace. Enjoy city views and live DJ with a refreshing Fanny’s cocktail in hand.

"Oedipus the King, Mama!" - Getty Villa (Aug. 29-30, 2025)

626 Night Market - Santa Anita Park (Aug. 29-31, 2025)
Now in its 13th year, 626 Night Market is the largest Asian-inspired night market in the country. Taking place at Santa Anita Park from Friday to Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, the family-friendly festival features 300+ food vendors, arts & crafts, games, music and entertainment.

Leimert Park Jazz Festival - Baldwin Park Crenshaw Plaza (Aug. 30, 2025)
Now in its sixth year, the Leimert Park Jazz Festival is taking place on the rooftop deck of the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza on Saturday, August 30.
Headlining this year is legendary jazz vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater! The multiple GRAMMY and Tony Award winner is bringing her acclaimed project WE EXIST! to the stage with her first performance in South LA in decades. The lineup also includes vibraphonist Sasha Berliner, violinist Dayren Santamaría + Made in Cuba, The Melanin Horns, The World Stage Big Band and DJs Novena Carmel (KCRW) and Linafornia. One Direction: This is Us - The Autry (Aug. 30, 2025)
Featuring a wide range of films, gourmet food trucks and live music, Street Food Cinema presents screenings at outdoor locations from Los Angeles State Historic Park to the Autry Museum of the American West, Griffith Park and more.
On Saturday, August 30, SFC presents One Direction: This is Us at The Autry. Directed by the late Morgan Spurlock, the 2013 documentary looks at Niall, Zayn, Liam, Louis and Harry's meteoric rise to fame, from their humble hometown beginnings and competing on X-Factor; to conquering the world and performing at London's famed O2 Arena. Dim Mak Afloat - Golden Hour (Aug. 30, 2025)
Dim Mak Afloat, the poolside summer series at Golden Hour at Level 8, closes out its season on Saturday, August 30 with headliner Bynx along with Ladler, Minijoy, Mondry, Altierr and Chris Outlaw. Tickets at Eventbrite.

W Hollywood (Aug. 30-31, 2025)
The W Hollywood will bring the summer to a close in high style by celebrating on its rooftop WET Deck. The hotel’s Swim Party will go off on the Saturday and Sunday afternoons of Labor Day Weekend featuring local DJs and views of the city below. There will also be VIP options for those willing to splurge on a cabana and bottle service.

The Ford (Aug. 30-31, 2025)
The Ford presents two nights of global artists on Saturday and Sunday, August 30-31.
A trained classical cellist, the irrepressible Australian singer and musician Betty Who joins forces with the LA Phil and conductor Chelsea Gallo on Saturday to perform new songs and go-to favorites from across her career reimagined with symphonic scale.
On Sunday, Bajo la Luna honors the tradition and transformative power of song from across the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America. Through fresh, inspired interpretations of the craft, the evening brings together three acclaimed singer-songwriters: Silvia Pérez Cruz from Spain, La Muchacha from Colombia, and Y La Madrigal from Mexico and the U.S.

Cinespia - Hollywood Forever (Aug. 30-31, 2025)
Cinespia hosts classic films and modern favorites at historic locations across LA. Its most popular events take place at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The outdoor screenings take place on the Fairbanks Lawn, named for the adjacent crypt housing both Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. and Jr. Guests picnic under the stars and watch films digitally projected against the wall of the Cathedral Mausoleum, which houses the crypt of Rudolph Valentino among many others.
On Labor Day Weekend, Cinespia presents two audience favorites: The Princess Bride on Saturday, August 30; and The Silence of the Lambs on Sunday. Gates at 6:15pm, movie at 8pm for The Princess Bride; and 6:45pm/8:30pm for The Silence of the Lambs.

The Montalbán (Aug. 30-31, 2025)
Located near the iconic intersection of Hollywood and Vine, The Montalbán is screening two outdoor movies this weekend: the original Scream on Saturday, August 30; and Before Sunrise on Sunday. The Montalbán’s rooftop OASIS is outfitted with a bar, concession stand, and kitchen. Doors for each screening open at 6pm, with the feature film starting 10 minutes after sunset (8pm).

The Sword - The Bellwether (Aug. 30, 2025)
Heavy metal band The Sword released the sci-fi themed Warp Riders in 2010. To celebrate the concept album's 15th anniversary, the reunited Austin band will perform Warp Riders in its entirety on a nationwide tour, which includes a stop at The Bellwether on Saturday, August 30.

BMO Stadium (Aug. 31 & Sep. 1, 2025)
Located at Exposition Park, BMO Stadium is the home of MLS's LAFC and Angel City FC of NWSL. Easily accessed from the Metro E Line, BMO Stadium is LA's first new open-air stadium since Dodger Stadium opened in 1962.
Both home teams will be playing at BMO Stadium this weekend: LAFC vs San Diego FC on Sunday, August 31, which is expected to be the home debut of superstar Son Heung-Min; and Angel City FC vs Bay FC on Labor Day, which is LA Day with a mini-skateboard giveaway and fan fest.

Prosperity Market Pop-Up Farmers Market - CAAM (Aug. 31, 2025)
Celebrate Black Business Month with Prosperity Market at the California African American Museum on Sunday, August 31. The Watermelon Woman - Getty Center (Aug. 31, 2025)
On Sunday, August 31, the Getty Center presents a screening of The Watermelon Woman. Written, directed and edited by Cheryl Dunye, this romantic comedy explores long-standing constructions of race and sexuality on-screen. Dunye stars as a documentary filmmaker trying to identify an unnamed actress who plays a stereotypical “mammy” character in a 1930s plantation drama, a role that many Black actresses in Hollywood were relegated to at the time. Leelou & Friends - Mount Wilson Observatory (Aug. 31, 2025)
Presented by the Mount Wilson Observatory, Sunday Concerts in the Dome is an ongoing music series curated by Artistic Director Cécilia Tsan that features performances in the vaulted dome of the 100-inch telescope.
The August 31 edition welcomes Leelou on vocals and cello; Arnaud Dunoyer (keyboard) and Liam Hayden on bass. Shows at 3pm and 5pm, with an outdoor reception at 4pm. NOTE: Access to the dome performance level is via a 53-step staircase; there is no ADA-compliant access.

Angel City FC vs. Bay FC - BMO Stadium (Sep. 1)
It’s LA Day at BMO Stadium on Labor Day, when Angel City FC takes on Bay FC on their home pitch. Arrive early for the Fan Fest at 2pm, with mini-skateboard giveaways at the gate, in addition to an LA Kings Beanie and college stein ticket packages. The match starts at 6pm.

Conquer the Bridge - San Pedro (Sep. 1, 2025)
"Become a Conqueror" at the 16th Annual Conquer the Bridge, which will take participants on a five-mile run/walk course over the historic Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro. The race starts at 7am on Labor Day, and all registered and timed participants will receive a custom finishers medal when they cross the finish line!
