Kins Hotel (Mid-City)

Recently opened this Fall, the Kins Hotel is situated in the vibrant heart of Koreatown and serves as a bridge between the rich traditions of its heritage and the experiences of its guests. By embracing the significance of community and home, the Kins Hotel offers a guest experience where visitors feel connected, welcomed, and comfortable, creating a home away from home for all. The four-story hotel offers 52 rooms.  

Sofitel Los Angeles Beverly Hills Renovations (Westside)  

The Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills has recently undergone renovations, with a significant focus on its lobby, bar, and public spaces to blend California's vibrant energy with French elegance. The property, located conveniently near the Beverly Center, also features a relaunched spa, a modernized hair salon, and refreshed meeting spaces, culminating in an elevated and chic redesign of the hotel's brand and offerings.

Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel (Westside)

Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel, a seven-acre hillside oasis at the intersection of Brentwood and Bel-Air, recently completed a renovation of all of its 160 rooms and suites.  

Cameo Beverly Hills (Westside)

Cameo Beverly Hills is undergoing a substantial renovation, originally part of its rebranding from Mr. C Beverly Hills in 2023, with an estimated completion by the end of 2025. The approximately $25 million project includes updates to guest rooms, bathrooms, the lobby, restaurant, pool, fitness area, and meeting spaces. The renovation aims to elevate the guest experience and prepare the hotel to join Hilton's LXR Hotels & Resorts luxury collection

Hilton Garden Inn LAX (Beach Cities/LAX)

Formerly La Quinta, the Hilton Garden Inn LAX is a new renovated property featuring 280 rooms with refreshed interiors with new furnishings, a revitalized pool deck and redesigned restaurant.

Hotel Lucile (Silver Lake)

Early 2026

Hotel Lucile is a 25-room boutique hotel in the heart of Silver Lake by Casetta. Housed in a 1931 church building where Griffith Boulevard and Lucile Avenue converge, the space has been reimagined to include a restaurant and bar, pool, rooftop lounge and more. Just around the corner from the farmer’s market and with views of the city from its rooftop, the hotel will be welcoming guests in 2025.

Hilton Arcadia (Arcadia) 
Winter 2025

Kali Hotel and Rooftop (Hollywood Park)

September 2026

KPC Development Company announces its latest project, Kali Hotel and Rooftop, Autograph Collection, a landmark lifestyle hotel at Hollywood Park in Inglewood. The 300-key hotel will be adjacent to SoFi Stadium and YouTube Theater, within walking distance of Intuit Dome and Kia Forum, and four miles from Los Angeles International Airport.  

Jordan San Gabriel (San Gabriel Valley) 
January 2026

The former Hyatt Place property in San Gabriel is being redeveloped and rebranded under Hilton’s Curio Collection as the Jordan San Gabriel. The 212-room hotel, which is located across the street from the San Gabriel Square Mall, is slated to open in January 2026.

Mama Shelter Downtown Los Angeles (Downtown)

2026  

The hotel is targeting a 2026 opening. The Mama Shelter Downtown LA will be located in the Fashion District, beside the Los Angeles Flower District. It will offer 145 modern rooms and four suites, as well as two restaurants including a rooftop site.

Aman Beverly Hills (Beverly Hills) 
Opening 2027  

Swiss hotelier Aman has announced plans for a luxury hotel to be developed near the intersection of Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards. The Aman Beverly Hills will have 42 rooms and 37 Aman-branded luxury condominiums. The hotel, to be located on the old Robinsons-May department store site that’s just west of the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills and was previously earmarked for a hotel under China’s Wanda brand, will be part of the 17.5-acre One Beverly Hills project.

Venice Place (Venice Beach) 
Opening 2027

Venice’s Abbot Kinney Boulevard will be the site of a mixed-use project that will include 78 boutique hotel rooms and four furnished long-term-stay units.  

Pan Am Hotel  

The Pan Am Hotel is expected to open in mid-2026, as part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection. The hotel will be located at the Citadel Outlets, a popular shopping area in Los Angeles.

The MICHELIN Guide and James Beard Foundation spotlight Los Angeles’ dynamic culinary scene.

Los Angeles earned its first-ever three-star MICHELIN restaurants this year: Providence (Hollywood) and Somni (West Hollywood) now join the ranks of the world’s most elite dining destinations. This brings the total of starred restaurants to 23, explore all of Los Angeles’ MICHELIN-recognized restaurants here. At the James Beard Awards, Jon Yao took home Best Chef in California for his work at local favorite Kato.  

La Monique at Oceana Santa Monica (Santa Monica)

Feminine in spirit, refined in style, and bold in flavor, La Monique offers an elevated take on the classic French brasserie, blending timeless technique with a fresh, modern sensibility. At its heart, the menu by Chef David Fricaud celebrates the art of French cooking: fresh seafood, classic sauces, seasonal vegetables, and elegant presentations. Inspired by the glamour of Hollywood Regency, the space is imagined as an intimate jewel box – designed to be both inviting and unapologetically bold.  

Maydan Market (West Adams)

Washington D.C. restaurateur Rose Previte has opened the ambitious Maydan Market in LA. The 10,000-square-foot culinary compound opens in West Adams in October, on the corner of West Jefferson Boulevard and Hillcrest Drive. Maydan Market houses an outpost of Previte’s D.C. restaurants Compass Rose and Michelin-recognized Maydan, alongside stalls from five other Los Angeles-based restaurants like Holy Basil and Poncho’s Tlayudas.

Inanna Bar at The Hoxton DTLA (Downtown)

Perched on the 11th floor of The Hoxton Downtown is Inanna Bar, L.A.’s newest rooftop restaurant and bar offering unmatched panoramic views of Broadway and the city skyline. Inanna Bar’s food menu brings a modern Mediterranean touch to DTLA, with a lineup of mezze, flatbreads, and grill-fired plates designed to shared and savored.  

Kassi Venice Beach (Venice)

The prime rooftop of Venice’s Hotel Erwin has been remodeled into Kassi Venice Beach, serving a tight menu of Greek-inflected mezze, grilled skewers, and salads, plus an expansive view of the Pacific Ocean.  This version of Kassi offers takes on Greek classics like a spanakopita quesadilla, fried zucchini chips, crispy saganaki with Fresno chile jam, and more.  

Casa Dani (Century City)

One of Spain’s most celebrated chefs opened his former New York City restaurant, Casa Dani, inside the Westfield Century City, next to SBE sibling Katsuya, in July. Dani Garcia’s namesake restaurant serves upscale takes on traditional Spanish cuisine  

Cafe Tondo (Chinatown)

Mexico City-influenced Cafe and bar Tondo took over the former Oriel under the A Line train tracks in Chinatown, bringing a new destination to the neighborhood for everything from early morning coffee and conchas to afternoon spritzes and salsa after dark. Tondo serves pastries and coffee in the morning, along with an all-day menu featuring tuna tostada, rockfish Milanesa, guacamole, and more. Evenings bring spritzes and natural wine by the bottle or glass.

Kimpton La Peer Hotel (Beverly Hills)

  • No Rose at Kimpton La Peer Hotel: Located within the property’s newly renovated lobby space, No Rose redefines the classic ‘lobby bar’ experience by transforming into a cocktail lounge and late-night hot spot, inviting locals and hotel guests alike to enjoy craft cocktails and elevated bites by Executive Chef Charbel Hayek (Ladyhawk) in a lively atmosphere with recurring DJ programming.
  • BUTTERLOVE&HARDWORK: Pastry Chef Chris Ford will open his residency from November 8-March 2026. More than just a shop, ButterLove&Hardwork is an edible art showcase where pastry and chocolate serve as mediums of Ford’s creativity. Upon entering the whimsical space, guests will embark on a multi-sensory journey through the depths of chocolate and pastry.

Bar Jubilee

A new cocktail bar will be coming to The Sunset Strip this October. Bar Jubilee will feature a fun carnival themed menu including popcorn syrup and fat-washed bourbon for Jubilee’s Orville Old Fashioned with Angostura bitters and salt. The Gladiator’s lead spirit is limoncello, rounded out by an olive leaf liqueur, quinine-flavored aperitif Cocchi Americano, hazelnut gin, and Suze Gentian Liqueur, as well as fragrant rosemary. Most original drinks run for $18; alcohol-free drinks cost $14.  

The Front Yard at The Garland (celebrating 10 years of The Front Yard)

With roots steeped in Hollywood history, The Garland is a hidden gem, near some of L.A.’s most iconic landmarks, and boasts over 270 rooms. This year, The Front Yard celebrates its 10th anniversary with a special package: “Sip, Stay, Celebrate: 10 Years of The Garland!” Guests can enjoy 10% off daily rate, a daily food and beverage credit of $20.15, a bottle of Sky Ranch RosĂ© with a keepsake tote, and 1 PM late checkout.  

Beach House at W Los Angeles – West Beverly Hills (new poolside restaurant)

W Los Angeles - West Beverly Hills unveiled its newest culinary concept, Beach House, a poolside restaurant welcoming guests and locals to find a Baja-inspired escape on the west side of the city. Tucked beside the hotel’s vibrant WET Deck and pool, the hidden oasis celebrates the bold and sun-soaked flavors of Baja California. Menu highlights include a raw bar with mango charred-chile ceviche, shrimp aguachile, more. Delight in a true vacation feel with sips including La Llorona with añejo tequila, empirical plum liquor, velvet falernum, agave, lime and milk washed along with a lineup of refreshing frozen cocktails for an ideal lounge by the pool or sunset dinner. Super Peach

Momofuku, the David Chang-founded hospitality group will open its highly anticipated restaurant Super Peach at the Westfield Century City mall this October. The restaurant takes over the former St. Marc Pub-Cafe space on the first floor; the name is a nod to Momofuku, which translates to “lucky peach.” Super Peach will operate as an all-day restaurant with an approachable menu from Chang and the Momofuku team that combines Korean flavors with California sensibilities and ingredients.

Tesla Diner (Hollywood)

Tesla is making progress on its 1950s diner and drive-in opening this year. Designed by architecture firm Stantec, the futuristic, eye-catching Tesla Diner & Drive-In hovers over one of Hollywood’s busiest streets. When open, it will be a two-level, 24-hour restaurant with two movie screens, dining areas, and electric vehicle charging stations.

Mensho Tokyo (Culver City)

One of Japan’s most popular ramen bars, Mensho Tokyo, is expanding to Los Angeles with a location in Culver City.

Noun Coffee + Wine (Marina Del Rey)  

Noun Coffee + Wine is a daytime Marina Del Rey spot serving breakfast quesadillas alongside drinks like a blueberry matcha and a Fridge Cigarette (Diet Coke plus espresso). On weekends, they're open until 9 pm with an evening menu of natural wine, sake, Japanese beer, and snacks like hamachi crudo and burritos from Burritos La Palma.

Stoa Wine Bar & Market (Marina Del Rey)

Right on the water in Marina Del Rey, Stoa functions as a gourmet market during the day and a wine bar at night. The shelves are stocked with charcuterie, sandwiches, and salads.  

Berenjak (Arts District)

Berenjak, a London-based Iranian restaurant is now open in the Arts District. The restaurant opened on the garden floor of SoHo Warehouse, marketing the first publicly accessible location in the US. Guests can expect family-style dishes. Imagine dishes of mezze, fresh bread, khoresht, and kababs.  

Sweet Wheat (Culver City)

Sweet Wheat Bakery, a charming French-inspired cafe and bakery originally located in Redondo Beach, opened a new location in Culver City at 9341 Culver Blvd. Sweet Wheat offers handcrafted French pastries, such as almond croissants and pain au chocolat, as well as artisanal breads like baguettes and sourdough. The menu also features elegant desserts, including macarons and éclairs, along with seasonal savory dishes such as quiches, sandwiches, and ratatouille. Additionally, Sweet Wheat offers French-imported drinks, including fruit nectars, Orangina, and espresso

Genghis Cohen (Fairfax)

New York-style Chinese American restaurant Genghis Cohen is relocating from its original, iconic Fairfax location of 42 years. Now open at 448 N Fairfax, Genghis is ready to welcome guests.

Lapaba  

Nancy Silverton is opening Lapaba in Koreatown this November, short for “La Pasta Bar.” The concept blends Italian and Korean flavors, think dishes like kimchi suppli stuffed with Spam and mozzarella, cappelletti in a galbi broth with mandu filling, and bucatini alla’Amatriciana made with jjajang (black bean paste).

El Moro

Mexico City’s famous churro vendor ChurrerĂ­a El Moro has been serving cinnamon-dusted fried treats since the 1930s, and after an expansion in Northgate Gonzalez's food hall in Costa Mesa in 2023, they're now launching their first standalone U.S. shop in Echo Park.  

Badmaash (Venice)

Modern Indian restaurant Badmaash will soon open up in Venice on Abbot Kinney this Summer. The new Badmaash will reflect a slight shift in sensibilities from the all-out carb-and-cheese fest on the original Downtown menu.  

Max and Helen’s (Larchmont)

Phil Rosenthal of Netflix’s ‘Somebody Feed Phil’ is opening Max and Helen’s, an old-school diner, in Larchmont Village this summer. Featuring elevated comfort diner foods, Rosenthal named the restaurant after his parents and will be partnering with Chef Nancy Silverton on the menu.

Monsieur Dior

The Beverly Hills boutique will be the second outpost of the brand’s Monsieur Dior restaurant run by Dominique Crenn. The 90210 branch will be the first Monsieur Dior location to serve dinner, and dishes will tie back to garments, like a tuna tartare inspired by a gown. Expect a dining room featuring garden-themed art and designer chairs with leaf prints, plus an outdoor patio with palm tree views.

Los Angeles is gearing up to take center stage as a premier host city for the FIFA World Cup 2026, and planning ahead for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic games. The city will host eight action-packed matches, including the U.S. Men’s Opening Match and the United States Opening Ceremony. Los Angeles will get a MeowWolf in 2026 in Culver City.

West Harbor (San Pedro)

Grand Opening 2026

Located in San Pedro, West Harbor is a new and vibrant waterfront destination for dining, shopping, entertainment and extraordinary experiences. The waterfront is partially open with activities such as the San Pedro Fish Market, though the grand opening will be in 2026. West Harbor features an expansive harborside promenade and the longest courtesy dock in Southern California.  When open, West Harbor will feature a one-mile-long waterfront promenade, a 1,200-linear-foot public dock for boat access, more than 200,000 square feet of waterfront attractions and excursions, 6,200 seat ampitheather and many other amenities and experiences.

Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center - Endeavour on Vertical Display (Exposition Park)

In July 2023, the California Science Center commenced Go for Stack, the complex process of moving and lifting each of the space shuttle components into place for Endeavour’s upcoming awe-inspiring 20-story vertical display. This technically challenging feat has never been done outside of a NASA facility. The Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center will dramatically expand the footprint and impact of the California Science Center, adding 200,000 square feet of space for exhibits, events and educational programs, and include three multi-level galleries – Air, Space and Shuttle – spanning four floors of exhibit space. Anticipated building construction completion is in mid-2025 with an official opening to follow. 

“Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” at Universal Studios Hollywood

Buckle up! Universal Studios Hollywood has begun testing of its first-ever high-speed outdoor roller coaster “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift”. The dynamic new thrill ride, themed to Universal Pictures ’blockbuster film saga, Fast & Furious, will elevate the guest experience with innovative and technological achievements never previously employed in a rollercoaster. “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” will feature 360-degree rotation of the individual ride vehicles as guests travel along 4,100 feet of elaborate track — the equivalent of nearly 12 football fields — constructed with sound reduction technolog

Museum of Ice Cream  

Just south of the 10 Freeway in West Adams, the Museum of Ice Cream's permanent Los Angeles home is taking shape. On track to open in 2026, the new Museum of Ice Cream will include 15 interactive installations, including a 100-foot-long double helix slide that extends the three-story height of the building, a Santa Monica Pier-themed carnival experience, a tiki bar, and the world's largest sprinkle pool.

The Getty Villa Reopens (Malibu)

The Getty Villa Museum reopened this Summer following a seven-month closure due to the devastating Palisades Fire. In the wake of the fire, Getty’s facilities and grounds teams launched an extensive recovery operation. This included deep cleaning indoor and outdoor spaces, flushing the water system and replacing air and water filters. The reopening coincides with the debut of a major new exhibition, “The Kingdom of Pylos: Warrior-Princes of Ancient Greece,” running through January 2026. The exhibition will feature over 230 artifacts from the Messenia region, offering a rare look at the Mycenaean civilization.  

40th Anniversary of LA Opera

The LA Opera is celebrating their 40th Anniversary Season with a breathtaking production of Bernstein’s iconic West Side Story. This milestone season holds deep significance for the LA Opera, not only as they celebrate four decades of artistic achievement, but also as it marks the final season of James Conlon’s tenure as their esteemed Richard Seaver Music Director.  

Becoming Los Angeles at The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles (South LA)

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County reopened the permanent exhibition, Becoming Los Angeles, which explores the rich history of Los Angeles and the diverse groups of people that have made the city their home.

60th Anniversary of LACMA (Mid-City)

LACMA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, is marking its 60th anniversary this year. The anniversary is being celebrated with the unveiling of a new building, the David Geffen Galleries, which is slated to open in April 2026. The museum also has a new plaza and outdoor art installations, including Mariana Castillo Deball's "Feathered Changes"

  • David Geffen Galleries Update: LACMA announced that the public will be able to begin exploring multiple features of the new David Geffen Galleries now, as the museum prepares for the April 2026 opening of this new home for its permanent collection. Major construction of the building, designed by Pritzker Prize–winning architect Peter Zumthor, was completed at the end of 2024, and LACMA has begun to move in key operating functions. While this process continues, the building and its surroundings will start to come to life with installations of outdoor sculpture, the openings of dining and retail spaces, and special preview events.

Made in LA at Hammer Museum (Westwood)  

Celebrating the diverse and unique LA artists, for the seventh iteration of the Hammer’s signature biennial exhibition showcasing artists practicing throughout the greater Los Angeles area. 28 participants in the exhibition present work not only made in the city but also grounded in its complex and unfolding terrain. The works include film, painting, theater, choreography, photography, sculpture, sound, and video. Each engages with this city in ways alternately literal, formal, material, and metaphoric from Freddy Villalobos to Alonzo Davis, Gabriela Ruiz and David Alekhuogie.

The Broad Expansion (Downtown)

The Broad has officially broken ground on the $100 million dollar expansion project and will remain open during construction. The new building will open to the public before Los Angeles hosts the 2028 Summer Olympics. General admission will continue to be free.

Dataland (Downtown)

2026

Refik Anadol Studio presents DATALAND, the world’s first Museum of AI Arts, which is set to open in 2025 at The Grand LA, the Frank Gehry-designed development in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. DATALAND features art experiences blending human imagination and artificial intelligence, establishing a new model for artistic expression at the onset of the digital age.

Lucas Museum of Narrative Art (South LA)

2026  
Founded by philanthropist and filmmaker George Lucas and his wife Mellody Hobson, Co-CEO and President of Ariel Investments, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art will focus on the universal art of visual storytelling. The museum will present exhibitions for diverse public audiences unpacking visual storytelling in its richness and complexity through dynamic learning opportunities and public programs. Designed by renowned architect Ma Yansong and under construction in Los Angeles’s Exposition Park, the museum will feature expansive galleries, state-of-the-art cinematic theaters, dedicated spaces for learning and engagement, a new public green space, restaurants, retail and event spaces.

Frieze Los Angeles (Santa Monica)

The seventh edition of the fair returns to Santa Monica Airport from February 26 – March 1, 2026 and will feature approximately 100 galleries, an expansive program of ambitious installations, collaborations with nonprofit organizations, and pop-ups from some of Los Angeles' most beloved restaurants.

Destination Crenshaw (South LA)

Destination Crenshaw is the largest public/private Black art program in the nation, stamping a 1.3-mile stretch of Crenshaw Boulevard with an infrastructure project that includes beautifully designed community spaces, landscaping, and newly planted trees, and 100 commissioned works by Black artists.  While elevating Black culture, Destination Crenshaw will also boost the community through economic development, job creation and environmental healing.

Los Angeles is made for outdoor exploration and mindful wellness escapes. It’s our bread & butter. In addition to our beautiful public parks, hiking options, and miles of shoreline, LA has the newest in sauna and cold-plunges to fitness centers, wellness is always just a step away.

Quantum Wellness Spa (DTLA)

Quantum Wellness Spa is a new vibrant wellness community in Downtown Los Angeles. Known for merging entertainment and wellness with our 90-minute immersive experiences that harness the power of light and sound, hot and cold, and energy to awaken your senses. Merging ancient healing modalities with progressive technology, they offer a curated collection of holistic modalities. These range from massage to IV therapy, 90-minute sessions with guided classes, and our 3-hour, curated Experiences.  

Expanding Green Space in LA

Los Angeles County is investing $17 million to add 623 acres of new parkland, with funds from the Measure A parcel tax. This initiative, which includes trail restoration and wildfire resilience grants, aims to benefit communities impacted by the 2025 wildfires, especially those lacking access to open space. The funding will support 13 grant recipients for projects such as land acquisitions, new urban parks, and the preservation of open space.

La Brea Tar Pits Transformation

A reimagined Tar Pits will allow visitors of all ages to better witness and engage with the scientific process as well as more fully enjoy the beautiful grounds of this extraordinary destination. A new 1-kilometer looping pedestrian walkway will weave past the bubbling lake pits and through gardens planted with historical species to tell the story of La Brea Tar Pits from prehistoric time to our contemporary moment. Highlights of the plan include visible fossil labs, engaging and educational excavation sites, expanded green spaces with welcoming shade structures, new public amenities, an updated research wing, and new exhibition building. Details and new renderings will be released in spring of 2025.  

 

LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (LAX)

 

LA’s biggest infrastructure upgrades are right on track, making it easier than ever for locals and visitors to navigate the city.

 

The Automated People Mover at LAX

The Automated People Mover (APM) is the centerpiece of LAX’s multibillion dollar Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) which will enhance the traveler experience, give guests time-certain access to terminals and provide the long-awaited connection to the regional transportation system. This project is a key portion of LAX’s $30 billion modernization program, considered the largest public works program in the history of the City of Los Angeles. It will debut to the public in January 2026.

 

TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURE

 

Los Angeles Convention Center

The Los Angeles City Council voted to approve the L.A. Convention Center (LACC) Expansion and Modernization Project, underscoring the City’s commitment to maintaining its status as a world-class destination with a thriving tourism industry. This public infrastructure investment will create more than 15,000 jobs, add $652 million in General Fund tax revenue over 30 years and draw in over $150 million in additional visitor spending each year. Work on the project is expected to be completed by 2029, with a pause of construction 2028 to allow the Convention Center to serve as an event in the Olympic games.

Access To Hollywood  

Hollywood Boulevard has started to undergo a major revamp in hopes of making it safer for pedestrians and bicyclists while revitalizing businesses along the boulevard. Named “Access to Hollywood,” the project will focus on a 3.6-mile stretch that will include removing some car lanes to install protected bike lanes and dedicated bus lanes, improving crosswalks and widening sidewalks. Progress has been made with new 2.1 miles of parking-protected bike lanes, redesigned street layout to improve safety and decrease speeding and newly painted crosswalks, curbs and street lanes.

Metro D Line Subway Extension Project

Metro is expanding its rail system to the Westside with the D Line Subway Extension Project. This highly anticipated new addition to Metro’s network will add a total of seven new stations and a reliable, high-speed connection between Downtown and the Westside. After a decade of construction, Metro now expects to open the new D Line subway between January and March of 2026. The 4-mile Metro D Line Extension (Section 1) will go from Wilshire/Western in Koreatown all the way to La Cienega/Wilshire in Beverly Hills. The project includes three new stations: Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega. All stations are expected to be open in time for the 2028 Olympics/Paralympics.
