26 Reasons to Visit LA in 2026

Los Angeles is preparing for a landmark year marked by the FIFA World Cup 26™ and a growing mix of exciting events. LA Pride, one of the world’s largest LGBTQ+ celebrations, will play a central role in the city’s calendar, while Gustavo Dudamel’s concluding season with the LA Philharmonic offers a significant artistic milestone. New culinary ventures and a Noma pop-up contribute to LA’s evolving food scene, reinforcing an emphasis on culture + creativity.

Lowrider Tours

Neighborhood Spotlight: South LA

Step into this corner of the city where food, art, and community spaces meet in ways that feel distinctly Angeleno. New dining spots like Tom’s Watch Bar and Lounge 1888 offer easy pre- or post-game options, while local experiences such as Lowrider Tours highlight the area’s iconic car culture. The neighborhood also brings together a strong creative scene, family-friendly stops like the California Science Center and the Natural History Museum, along with independent eateries like the famed Holbox. Festivals, concerts, and major moments ranging from NBA All-Star Weekend to FIFA events give South LA a direct line into LA’s distinctive spirit.

Pro-tip: Spend time in Leimert Park, often called the Black Greenwich Village, to experience South LA’s creative heartbeat. Browse local pop-up markets and independent vendors around Leimert Park Plaza and keep an eye out for live music, poetry, and art happenings that regularly activate the neighborhood.

Hidden Gems of Los Angeles: Discover LA Tourism Team’s Insider Los Angeles Picks

LA Tourism’s Chief Marketing Officer, Eileen Hanson, shares her mix of coastal escapes, cultural landmarks, and neighborhood favorites that showcase Los Angeles’ diverse character.

  • Soak in ocean views at Point Vicente Interpretive Center: Part Museum, part park, and part lighthouse overlook, Point Vicente is a place to slow down and reconnect with nature. Walk along the dramatic cliffs with uninterrupted views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island.

  • Step into history at the Los Angeles Central Library: A must-visit for architecture and design lovers, the Central Library is an art deco landmark filled with murals, quiet reading rooms, and unexpected details.

  • Celebrate a special occasion at Osteria Mozza: For a quintessential Los Angeles dining experience, nothing beats securing a seat at the mozzarella bar. It’s a destination for food lovers and a classic choice for marking meaningful memories.

  • Stroll through Larchmont Village: A longtime favorite neighborhood, Larchmont Village delivers small-town charm in the heart of the city. Grab a latte at Go Get ‘Em Tiger, wander the tree-lined boulevard, browse local boutiques and enjoy a laid-back community vibe.

  • Explore Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House: As the only UNESCO World Heritage site in Los Angeles, Hollyhock House is a true architectural treasure. Touring the residence feels like stepping into another era and offers a deeper appreciation for Wright’s vision and legacy.

  • Grab a bite at Horseless Carriage: Tucked inside the Galpin Ford dealership, this vintage diner is a surprising find. Quirky and nostalgic, it serves up a surprisingly delicious breakfast or lunch and feels like a step back in time.
