The Best Outdoor Ice Skating in Los Angeles

One of LA's most popular holiday traditions is ice skating at the various outdoor rinks throughout the city. Take advantage of the beautiful Los Angeles winter weather and get a tan as you skate on a sunny afternoon. Or you can bundle up and enjoy the crisp night air while skating under the stars. Just remember the rules of the rink and enjoy the holidays.

Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square (Nov. 21, 2024 - Jan. 12, 2025)
The Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square returns to Downtown LA for its 2024-25 season on November 21 and runs daily through Jan. 12, 2025. Framed by skyscrapers and adorned with festive holiday lights, LA's largest outdoor ice skating rink spans 7,200 square feet and welcomes more than 54,000 skaters and 450,000 spectators annually. Hours vary for weekdays and weekends during the season. Open 11:30am to 9:30 on major holidays: Thanksgiving Day (November 28), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.
Pricing is $20 per person (all ages) for a one-hour session. Skates are included with admission. Figure and hockey skate sizes range from toddler’s size 8 to adult’s size 15. Guests can also bring their own ice skates.
Lockers are available to rent for $5. They are large enough to hold a couple of pairs of shoes, a medium-size handbag and a few small purchases.
For beginning skaters under 48" tall, Skate Helpers glide with the skater along the ice and help with balance and control. Limited quantities available to rent on-site only on a first come, first-served basis.
Private parties are available on select Mondays and Tuesdays during the 5:30pm and 7pm sessions. On or before December 17, the rate for a private party is $5,000. Sessions are not open to the public if sold to a private party.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Pershing Square will host special events throughout the 2024 season, beginning with the Opening Celebration, taking place from 5-7pm on November 21. Enjoy on-ice performances, a sneak peek of Wicked, and the annual Pershing Square Tree Lighting Ceremony. After the performances, the public is invited to hit the ice for skating fun with friends and family!
Ongoing special events include Wicked Wednesdays, DJ Spotlights (Thursdays), Learn to Curl (select Saturdays, $25) and Classical Sundays.
LA Kings Holiday Ice (Nov. 29, 2024 - Jan. 10, 2025)
The annual LA Kings Holiday Ice brings outdoor ice skating to L.A. LIVE on Peacock Place, in front of Crypto.com Arena. Gather with friends and family, or enjoy a date night before and after a game or concert! The LA Kings Holiday Ice rink will open on Friday, November 29 and run through Jan. 10, 2025. General Admission tickets are $25 and only sold on-site at the rink. Pricing includes skate rental and admission.


Holiday Ice Skating Rink - The Hill (Nov. 30, 2024 - Jan. 5, 2025)
Nestled in the Hollywood Hills, The Hill presents the Holiday Ice Skating Rink, which opens on Saturday, November 30 and runs through Jan. 5, 2025.
The outdoor skating rink will be open 11:30am - 10pm Sunday-Thursday and 11:30am - 11pm on Friday and Saturday. Pricing is $25 per person for a one-hour session. Skates are included with admission. The exclusive Polar Party Package offers a private tent and seating area complete with tables and chairs for up to 20 guests. With customizable options, including catering and various amenities, this package is perfect for birthday celebrations or any special event. The Polar Party Package starts at $300 for 1.5 hours.

Ice at Santa Monica (Through Jan. 20, 2025)
Once again, the corner of 5th Street and Arizona Avenue has been transformed into Ice at Santa Monica, an 8,000 square-foot outdoor ice skating rink with a 400 square-foot tot rink for the little ones.
Presented by Disney+, Ice at Santa Monica will run through Jan. 20, 2025. Hours of operation are Sundays through Thursdays 11:30am to 9:30pm; and Fridays and Saturdays from 11:30am to 11pm. Open 11:30am to 9:30 on major holidays: Thanksgiving Day (November 28), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. Ice at Santa Monica will be open New Year's Day 11:30am to 11pm.
Admission is $22 for a one-hour skating session and includes skate rental. A multi-session day pass is $30 and allows guests to skate from 1pm-5pm on select dates. Lockers are available to rent for $5. Skating lessons are available on Sunday mornings. Rinkside fire pits are available to rent for $75 and can accommodate six people.
