One of LA's most popular holiday traditions is ice skating at the various outdoor rinks throughout the city. Take advantage of the beautiful Los Angeles winter weather and get a tan as you skate on a sunny afternoon. Or you can bundle up and enjoy the crisp night air while skating under the stars. Just remember the rules of the rink and enjoy the holidays.

Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square (through Jan. 8, 2023)

The Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square returns to Downtown LA for its 2022-23 season and runs daily through Jan. 8, 2023. Framed by skyscrapers and adorned with festive holiday lights, LA's largest outdoor ice skating rink spans 7,200 square feet and welcomes more than 54,000 skaters and 450,000 spectators annually.

Pricing is $20 per person (all ages) for a one-hour session. Skates are included with admission. Figure and hockey skate sizes range from toddler’s size 8 to adult’s size 15. Guests can also bring their own ice skates.

Lockers are available to rent for $5. For beginning skaters under 48" tall, Skate Helpers ($6) glide with the skater along the ice and help with balance and control.

Private parties are available on select Mondays and Tuesdays during the 5:30pm and 7pm sessions on or before December 13. The rate for a private party is $5,000. Sessions are not open to the public if sold to a private party.

The 2022 season kicked off with the annual Icebreaker Opening Celebration, which featured a live performance, special guests and more. After the “icebreaking” ceremony, where a large ice sculpture was shattered, The Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square’s first skaters were youth from South Los Angeles.
