LA's countless clubs and bars offer New Year’s revelers myriad options for welcoming in 2023 in style. From neighborhood gems and arms-aloft dance parties to refined rooftops and sophisticated supper clubs, it’s all here at the end of the year.
We looked at some of the best places to mark the midnight countdown on Saturday, December 31 and wave goodbye to 2022 in unforgettable fashion. And remember - take public transportation, use a ride share service, or nominate a dependable designated driver!

Gatsby's Penthouse - Capture Studios

Two Bit Circus

Minimal Effort: Jimi Jules & Doc Martin - 1720
Minimal Effort is a large-scale bi-annual dance music event held at Halloween and on New Year’s Eve. This year’s NYE edition is hosted by DTLA’s 1720 warehouse space, featuring extended sets by Jimi Jules and Doc Martin, plus support from Of The Moon and Arya. A revamped former garment factory, 1720 and its environs remain unscathed by gentrification, making this the place to keep it real into 2023, albeit with 6-ticket VIP tables available.

No Cover New Year's - Angel City Brewery
Just a four-minute walk from the Metro L Line (Gold) Little Tokyo/Arts District Station, or 15 minutes from Union Station, Angel City Brewery lets you leave the car at home and celebrate NYE carefree. And it’s about more than beer here, as Angel City also serves as a center for LA artists and musicians. Its annual No Cover New Year’s party runs from noon to 2 a.m., with entertainment and a complimentary midnight toast. Early arrival is recommended, as this event tends to reach capacity.

Nativo
Highland Park's Nativo is serving a special NYE dinner menu, featuring Cristalino tequila cocktails and grooves by LA-based DJ collective La Junta. Guests can choose between a full seated dinner or bar-only experience.
Dinner reservations are $75 at Yelp, which guarantees an indoor or outdoor table for up to 4 guests; complimentary midnight toast and party favors. Tables are available from 8pm-11:30pm.

The Offbeat
Highland Park favorite, The Offbeat is hosting a Celestial New Year's Eve 2023 with Scarlett Casanova, Joey Radikal and DJ French. Groove to throwbacks, 80s, New Wave, Rock en Español, Latin and more. Best of all, it's free admission all night!

Burlesque Preciosa - Catch One
The legendary Catch One is hosting Burlesque Preciosa, a queer Latinx NYE party featuring DJs Von Kiss and Marina spinning reggaeton and 90s hip-hop. The festivities include bachata dancing, queer burlesque show, ballon drop and free giveaways. Bottle service available.

NYE 2023: Under the Disco Ball - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Situated inside Koreatown’s LINE LA boutique hotel, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a disco-Deco dreamscape created by the Houston Brothers, combining 1970s glitz and glam with the Gatsby-esque decadence of a half-century earlier. Its throwback light-up, multi-colored floor is always a talking point, while plant-based bites and craft cocktails keep things firmly in the here and now. NYE 2023: Under the Disco Ball features disco and house music, premium open bar and a special rollerskating performance at midnight. Table service available.

Dance Yourself Clean - Teragram Ballroom
Indie dance party Dance Yourself Clean started in Seattle and now stages weekly events nationwide. With its inclusive festival feel, Dance Yourself Clean’s indie electronic NYE party at Westlake’s storied Teragram Ballroom is aimed at low-key music lovers rather than see-and-be-seen fashionistas, playing the likes of Empire of the Sun, Tame Impala, and LCD Soundsystem. All-ages VIP includes mezzanine access and skip-the-line privileges.

NYEx10: Decades - Big Bar
Big Bar in Los Feliz is hosting the annual NYEx10, with cocktails, hourly countdowns and playlists from around the world. As always there's no cover.
This year's theme is "Decades" - starting in the 1930s at 3pm, guests will time travel across nine more decades every hour, culminating with a complimentary midnight champagne toast in the 2020s. Each decade will feature a classic cocktail, including the Daiquiri, popularized in the 1940s; the Martini (1950s), the Margarita ('80s) and the 1990s iconic Cosmopolitan.
Once again designed by artist Dave Stolte, the souvenir NYE menu for this year will be a CD booklet, enclosed in a jewel case with a QR link to the NYE playlist.

The Black Cat
Dress to impress for NYE at The Black Cat, the LGBTQ landmark in Silver Lake. Doors at 6pm, dinner served till 9:30pm, DJ and dancing from 10pm to 2am, and complimentary midnight toast.

Club 90s NYE 2023 - Los Globos
Silver Lake mainstay Los Globos offers New Year’s revelers the choice of three different rooms of dancing and mingling at its Club 90s NYE 2023 party – and all for under $30! Downstairs, you can dance to your faves from the aughts and early ‘10s: Rihanna, Gaga, One Direction, Usher, and more. Upstairs it’ll be Bad Bunny night with Benito, reggaeton, and Latin anthems. Or opt for the Red Room for hip-hop and R&B. Indecisive? Choose Los Globos! 18 and over.

Dream Hollywood Hotel
Located in the heart of the Hollywood Vinyl District, Dream Hollywood is hosting multiple New Year's soirées with its inimitable, signature panache.
TAO Asian Bistro is promising an elevated NYE dining and lounge experience. Beginning at 9 p.m. on the big night, guests will be treated to an impressive selection of tray-passed hors d’oeuvres (through 11 p.m.) With complimentary party favors and a live DJ performance, plus available VIP tables, TAO is the place to say “ciao!” to 2022 in wonderfully Instagrammable style.

Boasting spectacular rooftop views of the city, the 11,000 square-foot Highlight Room is featuring a high-end lounge and pool deck experience on NYE, including a live DJ, midnight countdown, and available cabanas and VIP seating.

Red Cup Nation - I|O Rooftop
Located atop the recently opened Godfrey Hotel Hollywood, I|O Rooftop is the largest such venue in the neighborhood, with 12,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, a shimmering pool, and al fresco dining. On New Year’s Eve, I|O will host a “Black & Gold” themed celebration (dress to impress!) featuring DJ duo Red Cup Nation, an open bar, food stations, and available private tables. $75 per person for General Admission, $175 per person for open bar.

Midnight in the French Riviera - Bar Lis
The chic rooftop lounge of the new Thompson Hollywood hotel, Bar Lis conjures the spirit of the famously glamorous French Riviera. Blending SoCal suave and the classic South of France, this is a place where style is second nature and class is a state of mind. With DJ Awsumo manning the decks, passed hors d’oeuvres, and premium open bar, Bar Lis’ Midnight in the French Riviera NYE party will showcase the best of contemporary Tinseltown nightlife.

Loud Luxury - Academy LA
EDM event maestros Insomniac presents Canadian production/DJ duo Loud Luxury plus Zookëper and Saber on NYE at one of Hollywood’s hottest nightlife destinations, Academy LA. Markus Schulz: NYE Open to Close - Avalon Hollywood
A veteran of events like Electric Daisy Carnival, Monster Massive and Electric Zoo, Miami-based German DJ Markus Schulz can read a crowd like few others and makes the perfect master of ceremonies for his annual NYE Open to Close session at Avalon Hollywood. Mark Knight - Sound
Marking 10 years in business – a worthy tenure in the fickle world of nightclubs – Sound remains a stronghold of deep house and underground electronic music in L.A. Small, raw, and with an almost industrial vibe, Sound nonetheless lives up to its name with a one-of-a-kind Pioneer system that satiates even raving audiophiles. And what better way to see in 2023 than with seminal Brit house DJ / video game composer Mark Knight in such a tailor-made setting?

No Vacancy
Dance your way into 2023 on oriental rugs beneath a crystal chandelier at in-the-know nocturnal wonderland No Vacancy - a word-of-mouth cocktail lounge unexpectedly nestled inside a Victorian house just off buzzing Hollywood Boulevard. Evoking the intrigue and subversive indulgence of a Prohibition-era watering hole, with diverse areas for drinking, snacking, and dancing, No Vacancy promises a uniquely nuanced NYE at its 9th annual celebration, complete with five-hour open bar.

Good Times at Davey Wayne’s
Inspired by their dad's bachelor pad, the Houston Brothers created Good Times at Davey Wayne's, which presents its annual 1970s house party with DJ Zach Rosencrantz, live music by The Good Time Boys, backyard BBQ, a complimentary cocktail, and a Miller High Life toast to ring in the New Year. Tickets are $50 at Eventbrite.

The Three Clubs
Best known for cameos in Swingers, Mad Men and Bosch, The Three Clubs is hosting "A Real Country New Year's Eve" that starts with Happy Hour from 6pm to 9pm. The psychedelic Americana of Tar & Flowers kicks off the night's entertainment in the lounge. At 10pm the Real Country Music Band will lasso the crowd down a dusty trail of outlaw country, pop country, Southern rock, blues, selections off the beaten path, and gallop straight into 2023. Drink specials, a taco truck and DJ round out the festivities.

Midnight Oasis - La Mesa
La Mesa Restaurant & Lounge is a refined and magical, Tulum-inspired tropical escape tucked into the heart of Hollywood. Its Midnight Oasis NYE Party is a singularly sophisticated choice for the big night, including social fire shows, live music, and a special NYE countdown. Savor suitably celebratory craft cocktails between dancing to DJs Rebrn, Casey Kiss, Sam Baroni, and Mozic. VIP tickets include expedited entrance and access to a VIP lounge and bar.

MainRó
Opened in February, MainRó brings Miami Beach to Tinseltown. Indeed, this lavish, 7,500-square-foot space (formerly Beso) was conceptualized by Romain Zago, owner of Miami’s Mynt Lounge and Myn-tu. A “clubstaurant” that marries French, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine to touch-sensitive electronic dining tables and moving digital screens, MainRó will make for a sensory-overload celebration on its very first New Year’s Eve.

Dragonfly
A favorite Hollywood hang since the early 1990s, albeit much changed over the years, today’s Dragonfly juxtaposes soft velvet and suede furnishings against exposed-brick surfaces.
