Los Angeles has fully reopened and is ready to host spectacular Fourth of July events throughout the city. From Independence Day concerts to fireworks and outdoor movies, read on for the best places in L.A. to celebrate America’s 245th birthday.

All events take place on Sunday, July 4 unless otherwise noted. Check individual locations for ongoing COVID-19 protocols.

Kool & The Gang at Hollywood Bowl (July 3-4)



Get down on it and celebrate good times with Kool & The Gang! The legendary band brings their funk-disco grooves to the Hollywood Bowl for the annual Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, along with patriotic favorites by Thomas Wilkins and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.

Cinespia at Hollywood Forever (July 3-4)



Have the time of your life with Cinespia, which is hosting a weekend of outdoor movies and fireworks at the landmark Hollywood Forever Cemetery: Dazed and Confused (July 3) and Dirty Dancing (July 4).

Gates open at 7:15pm, movie starts at 9pm, then fireworks after the film. Picnic on the lawn with beer and wine. "All right, all right, all right."

Rooftop Cinema Club at Santa Monica Airport (July 2-3)



Rooftop Cinema Club is back at its Santa Monica Airport location with drive-in movies throughout the July 4th Weekend: The Sandlot (July 2), Girls Trip (July 2), The Goonies (July 3), and American Pie (July 3).

Movies will be projected onto a 52-foot screen, and audio will be broadcast through the FM transmitter radio in your car. Each parking spot has a designated tailgating area, so you can watch the film from inside or outside of your vehicle. Guests can bring their own food and drink; food trucks and classic movie concessions will also be available.

July 4th Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain (July 2-4)



Celebrating its 50th anniversary as the "Thrill Capital of the World," Six Flags Magic Mountain presents the annual Coca-Cola July 4th Fest from Friday to Sunday, July 2-4. Adrenaline junkies can experience heart-pounding thrills on West Coast Racers, the craziest twists and loops on Viper and X2, and the steepest drops on Twisted Colossus and Goliath. Celebrate the red, white and blue with a selfie at the Coca-Cola Photo Wall to remember the day. Tickets on sale at the Six Flags Magic Mountain website.

"Dirty Dancing" at Melrose Rooftop Theatre



Located on the rooftop adjacent to the patio at E.P. & L.P., the Melrose Rooftop Theatre features a 16'x19' Da-Lite screen, bean bag seating, wireless headphones, cocktails and movie snacks, and stunning views of the Hollywood Hills. In-movie wine packages and Dinner & a Movie three-course menu are also available.

Marina del Rey Fourth of July Fireworks



One of Marina del Rey's most popular annual events, the 4th of July Fireworks Show is back this year with a 10-minute display that starts at 9pm. The pyrotechnics will be synchronized to music played over loudspeakers at Burton Chace Park (13650 Mindanao Way) and Fisherman's Village (13755 Fiji Way). The fireworks will be shot from a barge off the Marina’s south jetty. View the show from virtually anywhere in Marina del Rey, Venice Pier, Playa Vista and Dockweiler Beach.

City Cruises will offer special July 4th cruises: a brunch excursion from 1pm - 3pm, and a three-hour Premier Dinner Cruise from 7pm - 10pm. Reservations at CityCruises.com.

Alternatively, you can charter a private yacht to get the ultimate close-up view. Find information about companies properly licensed to operate charters in the Marina at the Visit Marina del Rey website.

Early arrival is strongly suggested. Parking is limited and local street closures are planned to start as early as 1pm in some areas.

95th Annual Americafest at Rose Bowl Stadium



The world-famous Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena hosts the 95th Annual AmericaFest, a family-friendly event that boasts the "biggest fireworks show in Southern California." Parking opens at 3pm, doors to the stadium at 5:30pm, and the patriotic festivities start at 7pm. Entertainment lineup TBA.

A tax-deductible donation offers VIP field access viewing along with a Rose Bowl commemorative blanket, BBQ dinner, and other amenities. Event donors will also be recognized on the stadium’s two video screens leading up to the fireworks. More info at the Rose Bowl Stadium website.

Community Observance at Korean Bell of Friendship



One of San Pedro's most famous landmarks, the Korean Bell of Friendship was presented by South Korea to the American people in 1976 to commemorate the bicentennial of the U.S. and to symbolize the friendship between the two nations. The annual 4th of July Community Observance takes place at Angels Gate Park, the home of the Korean Bell. Starting at 10:30am, the ceremony includes a processional to the bell, color guard, and guest speakers, who will lead the audience in reciting the names of the 13 original American states. As they read the names, representatives of the San Pedro and Korean communities strike a battering ram into the massive bell, ringing it once for each state.

International Printing Museum (July 3)



Located in Carson, the International Printing Museum is home to one of the world’s most significant collections of antique printing machinery. Taking place on July 3 from 10am to 4pm, the Independence Day Celebration includes special working tours of the museum's collections, family-friendly activities, vintage car display, and the opportunity to print your own Declaration on Franklin’s Colonial press.

General Admission is $15 and includes a slice of American Apple Pie and Colonial Punch. Tickets available online or at the door.

LA Galaxy vs. Sporting KC



Led by MLS Player of the Month Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, the LA Galaxy will take the pitch against Sporting Kansas City at Dignity Health Sports Park on July 4. Kickoff is at 7:30pm. Following the match, the club will host a fireworks show for all fans in attendance - "one of the longest-running fireworks shows in all of professional sports during an active season."

Reagan Library Virtual Fourth of July Celebration



The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is going virtual with its annual Fourth of July Celebration. The virtual program includes patriotic music by the 562nd Air Force Band, American Flag Trivia by the Library's Betsy Ross re-enactor, and Declaration of Independence Trivia by the Benjamin Franklin re-enactor. The program also includes fun arts and crafts for the entire family to enjoy. The program will be streamed on the Reagan Foundation YouTube channel beginning at 10am on Sunday, July 4.
