From Independence Day concerts at the Hollywood Bowl and Rose Bowl Stadium, to sports events at Dodger Stadium and StubHub Center, read on for the best places in LA to celebrate America’s 243rd birthday. Nile Rodgers & CHIC - Hollywood Bowl (July 2-4, 2019)



An Independence Day tradition returns to the landmark Hollywood Bowl, which hosts its July 4th Fireworks Spectacular concerts on Tuesday-Thursday, July 2-4. It's going to be a funky Fourth of July with legendary hitmakers Nile Rodgers & CHIC, star-spangled American favorites performed by the LA Phil, a pre-concert Disco Throwdown, and of course dazzling fireworks. The Bowl is offering a 50% discount for children 12 and under. Ticket limits apply.

July 4th Fest - Six Flags Magic Mountain (July 3-6, 2019)



For a pulse-pounding Independence Day and holiday weekend, visit Six Flags Magic Mountain (aka the “Thrill Capital of the World”) and experience the annual July 4th Fest from Wednesday-Saturday, July 3-6. Spire 73 & La Boucherie - InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown (July 4-6, 2019)



Elevate your Fourth of July at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, perched atop the tallest building west of Chicago.  Located on the 73rd floor, Spire 73 is the tallest open-air rooftop bar in the Western Hemisphere. Pricing is $165 per person, with an $85 optional wine pairing.

Dodgers vs. Padres - Dodger Stadium (July 4-7, 2019)



The Los Angeles Dodgers host the San Diego Padres for a four-game homestand at Dodger Stadium that begins with a July 4th game at 6:10pm, featuring a postgame Holiday Fireworks show. Other highlights include Friday Night Fireworks on July 5, Cody Bellinger Jersey on July 6, and the annual Jewish Community Day on Sunday, July 7.

Grand Park + The Music Center 4th of July Block Party



Billed as L.A. County's largest free July 4th celebration, Grand Park + The Music Center 4th of July Block Party features picnicking, music, dancing and a fireworks show high above Downtown L.A. This year, for the first time, the event will feature a 75-foot Ferris wheel for attendees to ride (paid tickets required). The event will feature two stages with DJs and live music performances throughout the celebration. Fireworks begin at 9:00 p.m., soaring nearly 500 feet high from the roof of The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, making them visible throughout Downtown LA and the surrounding neighborhoods. The event offers a wide range of dining options from more than 40 vendors and gourmet food trucks. Taking place 3:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m., the 4th of July Block Party will encompass the entire park, from Grand Avenue to Spring Street, plus the surrounding streets. Admission is free.

Angel City Brewery



Celebrate the 4th of July at Angel City Brewery, which is hosting an all-day party from noon to 6pm at its Arts District brewery and Public House. Live music by The Vignes Rooftop Revival, food by Downtown Taco Co. and Burnt To A Crisp Texas Smokehouse. RSVP at Eventbrite.

Universal Studios Hollywood lights up the night sky with its first-ever July 4th fireworks celebration, inviting guests to enjoy a spectacular aerial display that will take place in multiple locations throughout the theme park. This exciting new addition is included in the price of admission. Guests can enjoy the theme park’s world-famous rides and attractions before the festive pyrotechnics extravaganza - synchronized to a score of Universal Studios-themed music and patriotic favorites - begins at 9:30pm.

World-famous Muscle Beach in Venice hosts its annual bodybuilding and figure competition every July 4th. Pre-judging begins at 10 a.m. and the final takes place at 1 p.m. The competition is open to all amateur athletes with a $100 entry fee. Admission is free to the public.

Bring your chairs, blankets and picnics to enjoy the spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks Show in Marina del Rey. The 20-minute fireworks display will start at 9 p.m. The pyrotechnics will be synchronized to music at Fisherman's Village (13755 Fiji Way) and Burton Chace Park (13650 Mindanao Way). Early arrival is strongly suggested. While ample paid parking is available, alternative access options include the WaterBus, the Beach Shuttle, the Free Ride, and rideshare services.

The landmark Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena hosts the 93rd annual AmericaFest on Thursday, July 4th featuring the "biggest fireworks show in Southern California." Entertainment includes the TNT Freestyle Motocross, National Anthem performed by Maximo Marcuso and the PCDA NoteAbles Choir, Apollo 11: The Immersive Live Show Preview, SoCal VoCals Live Performance, and Disney's DCappella Live Lion King Performance. The Family Fun Zone in Area H opens at 2pm, then gates for all seating at 5:30pm. Performances start at 7pm and the fireworks begin at 9pm.

4th of July Community Observance - Korean Bell of Friendship



The 43rd annual 4th of July Community Observance is taking place from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Angels Gate Park, the home of the Korean Bell of Friendship. One of San Pedro's most famous landmarks, the Korean Bell was presented by South Korea to the American people in 1976 to commemorate the bicentennial of the U.S. and to symbolize the friendship between the two nations. The Community Observance will begin with a processional to the bell led by percussion drummers. The ceremony includes the posting of the colors by the LA Air Force Base Color Guard and remarks by area dignitaries. To conclude the ceremonial portion, the assembled guest speakers will lead the audience in reciting the names of the 13 original American states. As they read the names, representatives of the San Pedro and Korean Communities will strike a battering ram into the massive bell, ringing once for each state.

Fourth of July Celebration - Ronald Reagan Library



Located in Simi Valley, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is hosting a full day of family-friendly activities for its annual Fourth of July Celebration. Taking place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., this year’s festivities include patriotic music by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Band, family entertainment, games, crafts and more. Activities include face painting, carnival and picnic games such as sack races and water balloon tosses, and more. Come meet and have your photo taken with Betsy Ross and Presidential look-alikes, and join in the fun for presidential bingo. All outdoor activities are free. Admission rates apply to view the Ronald Reagan Presidential Museum, Air Force One Pavilion and the special exhibit, The World of da Vinci.
