I’m With Pulp, Are You? - Philosophical Research Society (Sep. 29)
Mark Webber, guitarist for Pulp - which will play the Hollywood Bowl on September 26 and 27 - will discuss his 2024 book, I’m With Pulp, Are You? at Philosophical Research Society on Monday, September 29. Musician and author Dean Wareham (Luna, Dean & Britta) will lead the Q&A session.



Kamasi Washington - Blue Note LA (Sep. 30 - Oct. 5 & Oct. 7-12)
Acclaimed jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington begins a 12-night engagement at Blue Note Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 30. There will be two performances, at 7pm and 9:30pm, every night throughout the run, which lasts through Sunday, October 12.

A Taste of Vampires Around the World - Philosophical Research Society (Oct. 1)
Nathaniel Thompson, film historian and author of The FrightFest Guide to Vampire Movies, presents a night of global scares at Philosophical Research Society on Wednesday, October 1. Watch vampire appearances in television and film from the U.S., France, Hong Kong and beyond in this special presentation to kick off the Halloween season.


Ledisi: For Dinah - Walt Disney Concert Hall (Oct. 3)
GRAMMY Award-winning singer Ledisi releases her new album, For Dinah, on October 3. That same night, she’ll celebrate her tribute to Dinah Washington with a special performance at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
"Sanatorium Under the Stars" - Philosophical Research Society (Oct. 4)
Sanatorium Under the Stars is the latest film from influential animation artists The Quay Brothers and took 20 years to make. See it on the big screen at Philosophical Research Society on Saturday, October 4.

Sparks - Greek Theatre (Sep. 30)
Brothers Ron and Russell Mael have been making music as Sparks since the early 1970s, but this October, they’re releasing their first EP, Madder!, as a follow-up to their 26th album, Mad. The duo’s current tour comes to a close with a hometown show at the Greek Theatre on Tuesday, September 30.

Dwight Yoakam - Greek Theatre (Oct. 1)
Dwight Yoakam is on the road to support his new album, Brighter Days. The country star plays the Greek Theatre on Wednesday, October 1.

Erykah Badu - Hollywood Bowl (Oct. 3)
Erykah Badu brings The Return of Automatic Slim tour to the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, October 3 with special guest Westside Gunn. Gates open at 6:30pm for the 8pm show.

Perfume Genius - The Ford (Oct. 4)
Perfume Genius, whose latest album, Glory, came out earlier this year, launches his fall tour in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 4. Catch him live at The Ford with support from local electronic pop artist Baths, who also has a new album, Gut, out now. Gates open at 6:30pm for the 8pm show.

Al Green: Let's Stay Together, LA - YouTube Theatre (Oct. 4)
Soul legend Al Green plays the YouTube Theatre on Saturday, October 4, with support from The War and Treaty.

Dua Lipa - Kia Forum (Oct. 4)
Dua Lipa brings the Radical Optimism tour to Los Angeles on October 4, when the British pop star hits the stage at Kia Forum. Few tickets remain for the Saturday night concert. Singer Cil opens the night.

Carved - Descanso Gardens (Oct. 3-30)
Every October, Descanso Gardens invites the whole family to enjoy Carved, featuring hundreds of carved pumpkins lining the Camellia Forest and Oak Grove. The Descanso Railroad will be specially lit for Carved, and new ghosts will join the family of wood spirits carved from five enormous logs by Chainsaw Jenna. Be amazed by luminous jack-o’-lanterns, hand-carved giant pumpkins and “Rhizome” installation by Tom and Lien Dekyvere. Timed entry tickets to Carved are on sale at the Descanso Gardens website.

Lambrini Girls - Regent Theatre (Oct. 1)
British punks Lambrini Girls have been generating a lot of buzz since this year’s release of their debut album, Who Let the Dogs Out. They'll play the Regent Theatre on Wednesday, October 1, with support from New York-based Edging.

The Chameleons - The Belasco (Oct. 2)
Post-punk favorites The Chameleons released their first album in 24 years, Arctic Moon, in early September. Catch them live at The Belasco in Downtown LA on Thursday, October 2.

L7 - The Belasco (Oct. 3)
L7 celebrates their 40th anniversary on Friday, October 3, at The Belasco with a killer lineup that includes New York punks Lunachicks and Brazilian indie dance outfit CSS.

The Legendary Pink Dots - Zebulon (Oct. 3)
Long-running, incredibly prolific psychedelic band The Legendary Pink Dots, whose latest album, So Lonely in Heaven, came out earlier this year, plays Zebulon on Friday, October 3. Tickets are running low, so act fast if you want to see them live! Orbit Service opens the show.

Model/Actriz - The Fonda Theatre (Oct. 3)
Brooklyn-based Model/Actriz, whose latest album, Pirouette, is one of this year’s standouts, bring their dance rock sound to The Fonda on Friday, October 3, with support from Ayegy.

Polo & Pan - Kia Forum (Oct. 3)
Polo & Pan, the French duo behind dance floor hits like “Canopée” and “Ani Kuni,” dropped their third album, 22:22, earlier this year. Now on tour, they’ll bring the party to Kia Forum on Friday, October 3.

horsegiirL - The Shrine Expo Hall (Oct. 4)
horsegiirL, the pseudonymous German DJ known for wearing a horse head and dropping hyperpop bangers like “My Little White Pony” and “My Barn My Rules,” takes the stage at The Shrine Expo Hall on Saturday, October 4. This is an 18+ show.

"The Rocky Horror Picture Show" 50th Anniversary - Hollywood Forever (Oct. 4)
Cinespia celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with a special screening of the ultimate cult classic at Hollywood Forever on Saturday, October 4. The event will include a shadow cast, special guests, DJ and a Time Warp dance contest. Gates open at 5:30pm and the event gets going at 7:15pm.

LA Rams vs. SF 49ers - SoFi Stadium (Oct. 2)
The cross-state NFL rivalry continues on October 2, when the Los Angeles Rams take on the San Francisco 49ers at SoFi Stadium. Don’t miss out on the excitement of this Thursday Night Football matchup! Kickoff is at 5:15pm.

LA Kings vs. Anaheim Ducks - Crypto.com Arena (Oct. 4)
The NHL preseason begins on Saturday, October 4, when the LA Kings face off against the Anaheim Ducks at Crypto.com Arena. Plan to spend your afternoon or evening in Downtown LA, as this is an early game with a 3pm start time.

UCLA vs. Penn State - Rose Bowl Stadium (Oct. 4)
The UCLA Bruins host the No. 2 ranked Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday, October 4. Game time is still TBD, so visit the Bruins website for more information when it’s available.


LA Chargers vs. Washington Commanders - SoFi Stadium (Oct. 5)
The Los Angeles Chargers take on the Washington Commanders on Sunday, October 5 for an afternoon match-up at SoFi Stadium. Kickoff is at 1:25pm.

LAFC vs. Atlanta United FC - BMO Stadium (Oct. 5)

"Jaja’s African Hair Braiding" - Mark Taper Forum (Oct. 1 - Nov. 9)
Jaja’s African Hair Braiding, the Tony-winning comedy set in a Harlem salon, comes to Los Angeles for a month-long run with Center Theatre Group at Mark Taper Forum. The play, written by Jocelyn Bioh and directed by Whitney White, opens with a 7:30pm performance on Wednesday, October 1. Evening and matinee performances will continue through November 9.

"The Little King of Norwalk" - Latino Theater Co. (Oct. 2-5)
A tribute to Chicano identity in its many forms, The Little King of Norwalk blends satire, a touch of magical realism, and a nod to Gogol’s The Inspector General. Commissioned by Latino Theater Company and developed through its Circle of Imaginistas playwriting group, this world premiere is a modern barrio fable about power, politics and the price of survival.
"West Side Story" - Dorothy Chandler Pavilion (Oct. 4-5)
James Conlon conducts the LA Opera Orchestra in the company’s take on Leonard Bernstein’s classic West Side Story this fall at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The show runs through October 12 with evening and matinee performances on the calendar.
