Coming Soon: The Best of LA June 30 - July 6, 2025

Fourth of July isn’t until Friday, but the LA party starts Monday night and lasts through Sunday. Expect holiday-themed movie screenings, pool parties, fireworks and baseball on this week’s calendar. Plus, the Anime Expo will once again take over the Los Angeles Convention Center on Fourth of July weekend, bringing a healthy dose of Japanese pop culture to Downtown LA.

Sundance Institute Indigenous Film Tour - Vidiots (June 30)
Watch seven short films from Indigenous filmmakers, all of which have screened at Sundance, on Monday night at Vidiots in this cross-genre showcase. The 98-minute Sundance Institute Indigenous Film Tour will run in the Mubi Microcinema and tickets are free.

"Rollercoaster" - Los Feliz 3 (June 30)
Cult film screening series Cinematic Void hosts their annual showing of Rollercoaster, the Fourth of July-themed 1970s disaster flick that features a live performance by Sparks at Magic Mountain.

Lil Baby - Intuit Dome (July 1)
GRAMMY-nominated rapper Lil Baby concludes the U.S. stretch of his WHAM World Tour on Tuesday, July 1 at Intuit Dome. Support acts include Rob49, Loe Shimmy and Pluto. Ticket options include premium seating packages in the arena's suites, lofts, bungalows and cabanas.

Dodgers vs. White Sox - Dodger Stadium (July 1-3)
The Dodgers begin July with a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox. Hawaiian Shirt Night is Tuesday, July 1, with the exclusive promotion available with a special ticket package. Promos for the rest of the series include a Yoshinobu Yamamoto Bobblehead on July 2 and One Piece Night, a celebration of the popular anime series, on July 3.

Tiny Desk - Regent Theatre (July 1)
The Tiny Desk tour originally scheduled for June has been rescheduled for July 1 at The Regent Theatre in Downtown LA. Tiny Desk’s 2025 contest winner, Ruby Ibarra, will perform alongside a surprise headliner. Don’t miss out! Tickets to the all-ages show at Ticketmaster.

Earth, Wind & Fire - Hollywood Bowl (July 2-4)
Earth, Wind & Fire celebrates Fourth of July at the Hollywood Bowl with a three-night stretch at the iconic venue beginning Wednesday, July 2. All three concerts will bring together the iconic funk band with the LA Phil and a fireworks spectacular.

Speaker Honey - Jungle (July 2)
Speaker Honey first made a splash in the dance music world when her debut single, “Shoyu,” appeared as part of mau5trap’s We Are Friends compilation series in 2019. Currently based in Germany, the American DJ heads back to the States for a tour that will bring her to Wednesday night bash Clinic at Jungle on July 2. Tickets at Resident Advisor.

Anime Expo - LACC (July 3-6)
Anime Expo takes over the Los Angeles Convention Center over Fourth of July weekend for a four-day celebration of Japanese pop culture. This year’s mega-convention includes special events like the World Championship Fight for Japan’s Sukeban women’s professional wrestling league; J-pop music festival Anisong World Matsuri, cosplay gatherings, autograph sessions and lots more. It all starts on Thursday, July 3. Single-day and weekend passes are available.

The Dollyrots - The Echo (July 3)
Longrunning pop-punk band The Dollyrots return to Los Angeles to play The Echo on Thursday, July 3, where they’ll be joined by local favorites Go Betty Go and The Manic Standstill. Tickets at Ticketmaster.

"The Spirit of ’76" - PRS (July 3)
Philosophical Research Society’s 7th House Screenings brings 1990 cult favorite, The Spirit of '76 back to the big screen on Thursday, July 3. The Fourth of July time travel flick juxtaposes stars of the 1970s and 1990s, from David Cassidy and Leif Garrett to Olivia d’Abo and Redd Kross. Jeff and Steve McDonald of Redd Kross will be on hand to provide live commentary, and they’ll participate in a post-film Q&A session! Tickets at Eventbrite.

Detlef & Bruno Furlan - Sound (July 3)
House of Dreams kicks off the holiday weekend with a Black/White Affair at Sound on Thursday, July 3. Headlining the fête are Greek DJ Detlef and Brazilian house star Bruno Furlan. Tickets at Dice.

Fourth at the Fig Pool Party - Hotel Figueroa (July 4)
The disco vibes will be strong at the Hotel Figueroa La Casita Pool on the Fourth of July! Head to the historic Downtown LA hotel for an afternoon pool party and barbecue with live DJs, veggie menu options and VIP bottle service. Tickets at Eventbrite.

Summer Block Party - Gloria Molina Grand Park (July 4)
With two stages of music, a 75-foot Ferris wheel, 90-foot Super Slide and a drone show, the annual Gloria Molina Grand Park Summer Block Party is known as the West Coast’s biggest Fourth of July event. This year’s lineup includes D Smoke, Bardo, Ceci Bastida, Black House Radio, Discos Rolas and more. The best part: it’s free and all-ages!

Dodgers vs Astros (July 4-6)
The Dodgers are hosting the Houston Astros for a three-game home stand. This rematch of the 2017 World Series will feature an Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 4; Hololive Night on Saturday and the ever-popular Kids Run the Bases on Sunday.

"Top Gun" + Fireworks - Hollywood Forever (July 4)
Cinespia celebrates Fourth of July with a special holiday screening of the 1986 classic Top Gun at Hollywood Forever. Gates open at 7:15pm, movie at 9pm and fireworks post-screening.

Deep House Brunch Sunset Boat Party (July 4)
Deep House Brunch’s annual Fourth of July Boat Party returns on Friday with an evening of house music and good vibes. Watch the fireworks as you cruise around Long Beach on the Catalina King. Board at 6pm for the sunset cruise from 7-10pm. Tickets at Dice.

Dim Mak Afloat - Golden Hour (July 5)
Dim Mak’s summer series at Golden Hour at Level 8 continues on Saturday, July 5, with Linney, Benzi, Staring Contest and more playing poolside at the AC/Moxy in Downtown LA. Tickets at Dice.

OMNOM - Flora Grubb Gardens (July 5)
Spending the holiday weekend on the Westside? LA-based house DJ OMNOM has you covered with a special set on Saturday, July 5, at Flora Grubb Gardens in Marina del Rey. Tickets at Dice.

"Testament of Orpheus" - PRS (July 5)
Celebrate the 136th birthday of Jean Cocteau at Philosophical Research Society on Saturday, July 5, with a special screening of the avant-garde master’s 1960 film Testament of Orpheus. The final film in Cocteau’s influential Orphic Trilogy boasts a cast that includes Jean Marais, Yul Brynner and Pablo Picasso. The night will also feature the release of Cocteau-centric zine Sacred Monster Volume 1 and will raise funds for a new projector for PRS's theatre. Tickets at Eventbrite.

"Jaws" in Concert - Hollywood Bowl (July 5)
See Jaws like you never have before on July 5 at the Hollywood Bowl! The Saturday night screening of Steven Spielberg’s 1975 blockbuster will include the LA Phil, conducted by David Newman, performing John Williams’ Academy Award-winning score. Gates at 6pm, show starts at 8pm.

"La La Land" + Fireworks - Hollywood Forever (July 5)
The fireworks continue at Hollywood Forever on Saturday, July 5, for Cinespia’s special holiday weekend screening of the 2016 musical hit, La La Land. Gates at 7:15pm, screening is at 9pm.

Dim Mak in the Park - Pershing Square (July 6)
Dim Mak in the Park returns to Pershing Square on Sunday, July 6 with a stacked lineup that includes a special sunset set from Sunday Scaries, Makj, Ray Ray, secret guests and more. Last year, the free tickets sold out, so be sure to RSVP ASAP. VIP tickets are also available.

John Fogerty - Hollywood Bowl (July 6)
John Fogerty plays a career-spanning concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, July 6, which will include his greatest hits from Creedence Clearwater Revival in addition to solo favorites. Gates open two hours before the 7:30pm showtime.

Baekhyun - Kia Forum (July 6)
