Though it’s not a legal holiday anywhere in the U.S., St. Patrick’s Day is a festive celebration of Irish and Irish American culture that’s been observed in North America since before the American Revolution. On Sunday, March 17 expect to see the traditional color of green splashed across Los Angeles as bars and restaurants offer Irish food, music, and of course plenty of Guinness and Irish whiskey. Read on for St. Patrick’s Day events in Los Angeles, and as always please remember to celebrate responsibly.
The following events are 21 and over and take place on March 17 unless otherwise noted.
The Tam O’Shanter
Opened in 1922, the Tam O’Shanter (2980 Los Feliz Blvd, Los Angeles 90039) is known as the oldest restaurant in LA that’s operated by the same family in the same location.
The Tam is hosting its annual St. Patrick's Day celebration from noon till late on Sunday, March 17. General Admission is $10 and includes access to the live music tent, with food and drinks available for purchase.

Family owned since 1982, The Cat & Fiddle (742 N Highland Ave, Hollywood 90038) is celebrating St. Patrick's Day with a parking lot party, Guinness and Harp specials, and a burlesque show. The St. Paddy's menu includes Corned Beef & Cabbage, Corned Beef Sliders and vegan Pistachio Chocolate Ice Cream Cake.
Tom Bergin's
Established in 1936, Tom Bergin's (840 S. Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles 90036) is hosting its annual St. Patrick's Day party from 6am till late. The outdoor tented lot party will feature multiple bars, live bagpipe performance, a DJ spinning all things Irish and more.

The Original Farmers Market
The Original Farmers Market (6333 W 3rd St, Los Angeles 90036) celebrates St. Patrick's Day with authentic Irish food, green beer, and live music all day long. Glen the Bagpiper will be strolling the Market from 12:30pm to 3:30pm; and The Merry Minstrels will perform traditional Irish folk music on the East Patio from 4-6pm.
The Market's first eatery, Magee's will be serving their famous corned beef, cabbage and potato plate throughout the day. Green beer, Guinness and other imported Irish beers will be on tap from E.B's and Bar 326.
Molly Malone’s
Located on Fairfax Avenue a half-mile south of The Original Farmers Market, Molly Malone’s Irish Pub (575 S Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles 90036) has been owned by the same Irish family since 1970, a year after it first opened. The walls are covered by more than 70 paintings done by noted Irish portrait painter Neal Boyle, and the shelves are lined with books. But there’s one thing you won’t find at Molly’s, not even on St. Patrick’s Day: green beer.
Doors open at 8am for the 54th Annual St. Patrick's Day Bash, featuring pub fare, Irish step dancers and bagpipe players. Tickets are $10 and only available at the door on the 17th.

St. Patrick's Irish Stew Contest - Risky Business
Risky Business (10437 Burbank Blvd, North Hollywood 91601) is hosting its annual St. Patrick's Irish Stew Contest from 8pm to 2am. Bring your pot of Irish stew to share, and everyone votes - the winner gets a "ridiculous" bottle of Irish whiskey! Risky Business will be serving housemade Irish coffee, craft whiskey cocktails and Irish stouts on nitro.
Sonny McClean’s
Sonny McClean’s Irish Pub & Restaurant (2615 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica 90403) is home away from home for Boston sports fans in Los Angeles. Named for owner Jim Conners’ grandfather, Sonny McClean’s features live music, karaoke, a darts room and pool table. To go with the extensive beer list with 40 taps, Sonny McLean's features a full bar and a menu of pub grub, traditional New England and Irish favorites, made with a California touch.
The party starts at 8am on St. Patrick's Day, with The Don playing covers from 8pm to close. The beer patio will be open, along with Irish dancers and bagpipe performers.
Los Angeles Ale Works
Starting at 10am, Los Angeles Ale Works is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at its locations in Culver City and Hawthorne with Wee Stoutie (4.3% Dry Irish Stout) on nitro, green beer, slushies, micheladas and BBQ. And get ready to fill in your brackets - the big screens will be showing NCAA Selection Sunday, which starts at 3pm!
The Road to St. Paddy's Day - Brennan's (Mar. 15-17, 2024)
A Marina del Rey favorite since 1972, Brennan's (4089 Lincoln Blvd, Marina del Rey 90292) features an indoor/outdoor space by acclaimed designer Ricki Kline (The Varnish, Seven Grand et al) and the famous turtle races every first and third Thursday of the month.
Brennan's is going all in for St. Patrick's Day with a three-day festival of live bands, bagpipers, DJs, professional wrestlers and "an absurd amount of Irish flair."
