Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles
Opened in January 2014, the Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles features 180 rooms, the rooftop Upstairs at Ace, and a stunning 1,600-seat theatre. The hotel was built as the United Artists Building in 1927, designed by architect C. Howard Crane in a Spanish Gothic style and modeled after the Segovia Cathedral in Spain. The United Artists Theatre was the flagship movie theatre for United Artists, the film studio founded by Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks and D.W. Griffith. The hotel’s rooftop quickly became a popular Instagram location, from shots of the signature tower to the nearby Eastern Columbia building. Another Instagram hit is a portrait of Michael Jackson, one of many “hieroglyphics” created by the Haas Brothers that are located throughout the lobby and mezzanine.
Downtown Los Angeles Proper Hotel
Housed in a 1926 California Renaissance Revival building, the Downtown L.A. Proper Hotel features 147 guest rooms and suites, striking interiors by acclaimed designer Kelly Wearstler, and food & beverage helmed by James Beard Award winning restaurateurs Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne. The colorful lobby ceiling is already an Instagram favorite. Inspired by the Roma district in Mexico City, LA-based Judson Studios created a monumental stained glass installation for the hotel's signature restaurant, Caldo Verde. Two unique suites are musts for IG: the two-story Basketball Suite, complete with timber floors and painted court lines; and the Proper Pool Suite with an indoor pool and a handcrafted ceramic tile mural by LA artist Ben Medansky.
Originally built in 1926 as a YWCA, the Hotel Figueroa is conveniently located just down the street from the L.A. LIVE entertainment complex in Downtown L.A. The eclectic Spanish Colonial decor adds an exotic quality to the boutique hotel, which is a popular spot for Crypto.com Arena pre- and post-parties as well as private events. There are Instagram ops throughout the hotel, from the rotating lobby-level art exhibits to Bella Gomez's stunning 12-story mural - an homage to the property's feminist roots and its ongoing support of the arts.

The LINE LA
Centrally located in Koreatown, LINE LA is loaded with Instagram locations, starting with Shepard Fairey's 30’ x 80’ Peace Tree mural that towers over Wilshire Boulevard. Two Michelin-starred chef Josiah Citrin serves up seasonal cuisine at Openaire, the hotel's lush greenhouse and outdoor terrace. More IG spots are courtesy of nightlife impresarios, Houston Hospitality: the 80s-themed Break Room 86 karaoke bar and the Roaring 20s - Disco mashup Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
The Hollywood Roosevelt
The Hollywood Roosevelt opened in 1927, financed by a group that included Douglas Fairbanks, Mary Pickford and Sid Grauman. Named for President Theodore Roosevelt, the hotel has welcomed generations of VIPs, from legends of Hollywood’s Golden Age to today’s hottest stars. The first Academy Awards were presented at a private dinner in the hotel’s Blossom Ballroom - winners were announced three months before the ceremony, which took 15 minutes. The historic property offers plenty of Instagram shots, from the Spanish Colonial style lobby, to the vintage bowling lanes in The Spare Room (mezzanine level), and the always-popular Tropicana Pool & Café, with its famous David Hockney mural at the bottom.
Designed by renowned London-based studio Tara Bernerd & Partners, the Thompson Hollywood features 190 guest rooms and 16 suites with a mix of global style and laidback SoCal cool. Surrounded by 12 acres of lush gardens and exotic flowers, the hotel features 208 rooms and suites, including 23 secluded bungalows. Generations of celebrities have stayed at the hotel, and the famed Polo Lounge continues to be a favorite power lunch spot and watering hole for Hollywood’s movers and shakers.
