John D., a debonair septuagenarian ex-spy, resides in a luxurious hotel on the Côte d’Azur, savoring the tranquility of retirement. His peace is shattered when a mysterious neighbor vanishes, reigniting memories of a glamorous yet perilous past. As the line between reality and recollection blurs, John confronts the possibility that his former adversaries have resurfaced, threatening the idyllic life he’s built. Or is all of this a lucid daydream, the memories of a man who never was?

Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani’s latest film is a stylish homage to 1960s Eurospy thrillers, blending surrealism with sharp social commentary.
