Family Bird Festival 2026
Fly, hop, waddle or soar to California Botanic Garden for the Family Bird Festival. Enjoy a day outdoors with hands-on experiences and educational opportunities for young beginners and bird enthusiasts alike, presented in partnership with Pomona Valley Bird Alliance.
Highlights include:
- Fun bird crafts
- An immersive migration game
- A binocular challenge
- Bird-themed storytime
- Booths from local bird organizations including: San Dimas Canyon Nature Center, Wild Bird Unlimited, Friends of California Condors Wild & Free, International Bird Rescue, Janel Ortiz and the Ortiz Lab from CalPoly Pomona, Urban Wildlife Conservation Education, San Bernardino County Museum, and the Los Angeles Catio Tour.
- Opportunities to get involved in community science at Great Backyard Bird Count stations scattered throughout the Garden
- Food trucks, snacks, and drinks

Free Parking in our main lot and alongside North College Ave (please do not park in the student apartment complex)
Our garden is hosting this event within our normal hours of operation, though the event ends at 3, we do not admit any guests past 4:30pm and close at 5pm.
Please note the following is NOT permitted at the garden:
recreational scooters, skateboards, and bicycles
sports equipment and kites
butterfly nets and bug catchers
balloons
drones
radios and musical instruments
alcoholic beverages
smoking/vaping
clipping plants or taking anything from the garden
climbing or engraving trees
running or jogging
pets of any kind (only service animals permitted)
