Celebrate Mother's Day at Los Angeles Restaurants

Located atop the U.S. Bank Tower in Downtown L.A., 71Above is the highest restaurant west of the Mississippi and boasts spectacular city views throughout the space. The two-course Mother's Day Brunch starts with fresh biscuits for the table, then first course options like avocado toast, smoked salmon tartine and sugar snap peas. Entrees include Eggs Benedict, shakshuka, cacio e pepe, and flatiron steak & eggs. Pricing is $55 for brunch, with options to add first and second courses.

Opened in 2008 by Akasha Richmond and Alan Schulman, AKASHA features California and New American cuisine created with cultural influences taken from Chef Akasha’s travels around the world. Along with the regular brunch menu, a la carte Mother's Day specials (9am - 2:30pm) include Schaner Farm egg sardou, brisket hash & sunny side up eggs, and jumbo lump crab salad. Dinner specials will be served from 5pm to 9pm and include spring pea soup to start, lamb tagine, seared diver scallops, and Pavlova - lemon curd, Tamai Farms berries, strawberry sorbet, and whipped cream.

Just in time for Mother's Day, Chef Zach Pollack is launching a long-awaited weekend brunch at Alimento, his Italian hotspot in Silver Lake. Debuting on Saturday, May 11, the inaugural brunch menu will feature a mix of “Breakfast-y” and “Lunch-y” items, including new dishes like Ricotta Doughnut Holes with blueberries and mascarpone, a Potato Frico Waffle with pulled brisket, Crispy Polenta Tartines with whipped baccalá, and a Gritti Palace Club sandwich. Alimento regulars can enjoy signatures like the Braised Lettuce Bruschetta and the Chicken Milanese Sandwich, alongside classic brunch sides like house-made English muffins, bacon and sausages, and crispy potatoes that are a play on Frico Friulano.

Brunch dishes will be complemented by pressed juices, eclectic beers, select small-production wines from the restaurant’s predominantly organic and biodynamic list, and cocktails like the Mercato Mimosa and “Rosé & Shine” Spritz. Following its debut, regular brunch hours will be 10:30am – 2:30pm every Saturday and Sunday.

While brunch at Brentwood favorite Baltaire is always a treat, Chef Travis Strickland is serving a special Mother's Day buffet from 10am-4pm featuring carving stations, a raw bar, brunch favorites, salads, desserts and more. Treat mom to something extra special with the new “Sparkling Mimosa” bar, complete with fresh juices, a bottle of sparkling wine, and of course, a sparkler.

The brunch buffet is priced at $85 per adult and $45 per child. Reservations are recommended.

Part of the Innovative Dining Group collection of restaurants, BOA Steakhouse features a wide selection of prime steaks, including the signature 40-day dry-aged New York strip and A5 Japanese Wagyu; and seafood entrees like live Maine lobster and Cedar Plank Salmon.

Located on Sunset Boulevard, BOA West Hollywood is serving a brunch buffet from 11am to 4pm, featuring a seafood bar, prime steak carving station, custom egg bar and more. Pricing is $75 per adult and $25 per child. BOA Santa Monica is offering a special brunch menu from 11am to 3pm, along with their a la carte lunch menu.

Located in the Americana at Brand, Michael Mina's Bourbon Steak is serving a lavish Mother's Day Brunch Buffet. Priced at $85 per person, the buffet includes a Bread, Bagel, Fish & Charcuterie Station; Raw Bar, Chef's Garden Salad Station, Breakfast Buffet, Omelette Station, and Savory Buffet with country fried chicken, bucksnort trout, loaded potato two ways, smoked prime rib and wood-grilled asparagus.

Located in Century City, Craft is open for a rare Sunday brunch just for mom. The prix fixe three-course brunch starts with first and second courses for the table, including assorted pastries, coconut chia pudding, fuerte avocado, and red Russian kale. Main course selections include fried egg BLT sandwich, smoked salmon crepe, chicken sausage hash, diver scallops, loup de mer, flatiron steak, Berkshire pork loin, and ricotta cavatelli. Seatings are available 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. and pricing is $65 per person.

On May 12, Chef Sang Yoon is debuting Sunday Brunch at Father's Office in Culver City, featuring dishes from the upcoming Helms Bakery. That's right - it's Mother's Day at Father's Office! Highlights include the Sergio Schwartz (mezcal cured salmon, masa everything jalapeno bagel, Cotija "cream cheese," pickled red onion, radishes), Japanese Oatmeal (rolled & cut oats, mushroom dashi, pickles, coddled egg, nori), Fried Chicken & Waffle, Helms Breakfast Sammy, and the vegan "That's So LA" with house-made coconut yogurt, puffed ancient grain granola, and Pudwill Farms berries. Boozy brunch drinks include the Kimchi Bloody Maria (Legendario Domingo Mezcal, kimchi tomato cocktail, pickled radish) and Cold Brew "Negroni" with Carpano Antica, Luxardo Bitter, and Modern Times Cold Brew. Brunch will be served every Sunday from 10am - 2pm.

Fleming’s Steakhouse & Wine Bar is serving a three-course, prix fixe Mother’s Day Brunch menu starting at 10am. All entrees include a starter, Lyonnaise potatoes and fresh roasted asparagus to share, and dessert. To start, choose from North Atlantic lobster bisque or Caesar salad. Entree selections include Fleming's signature Eggs Benedict ($53), Steak & Spring Vegetable Quiche ($53), Barbecue Scottish Salmon Filet ($53) and Filet & Lobster ($65). For dessert, choose from key lime pie or carrot cake.

The focus at Fogo de Chão is churrasco, the Brazilian art of roasting meats over an open fire. Brazilian-trained gaucho chefs continuously deliver a selection of meats that are carved tableside. Options include the signature picanha (a prime cut of top sirloin), leg of lamb, pork loin and chicken. The Market Table features fresh seasonal salads, vegetables, imported cheeses and cured meats. Brazilian side dishes such as pão de queijo (traditional Brazilian cheese bread), crispy polenta, garlic mashed potatoes and caramelized bananas are served tableside.

All Moms who dine at Fogo de Chão in Downtown L.A. or Beverly Hills on Mother’s Day will receive a Dining Card good for one complimentary Sunday brunch, lunch or dinner (the Full Churrasco Experience!) on their next visit. The Dining Card is valid Sunday through Thursday only from May 13 – July 11, 2019. The DTLA and Beverly Hills locations will both be open 11am - 9pm on Mother's Day.

Normally closed on Sundays, Hinoki & The Bird will be open for a special Mother’s Day Brunch. Executive Chef Brandon Kida is serving a two-course prix fixe menu that starts with a choice of salmon sashimi, lobster roll, fried chicken, chilled strawberry gazpacho, hanami toast, or grilled avocado salad. Main course selections include brioche French toast, loco moco, steak & eggs, pizza fritta, Eggs Benedict, huevos rancheros, Okonomiyaki burger, uni carbonara, and miso salmon. Pricing is $38 per person for two courses, with optional sides available at $6 each. A $19 children’s menu will be offered for guests under age 12.

Suzanne Tracht's modern chophouse, Jar is serving a special Mother's Day menu starting at 5:30 p.m. Start with a refreshing Lychee Bellini or Watermelon Cosmo, then choose from a la carte specials like Tempura Squash Blossoms stuffed with shrimp, Crab Deviled Eggs, Jar’s Signature Pot Roast, Char Siu Pork Chop and more.

Jar’s Fried Chicken Sunday prix fixe dinner is also available through pre-order only, priced at $35 per guest.

Spanning 8,500 square feet of the historic El Dorado Building in Downtown L.A., Le Petit Paris is a French brasserie that smoothly transitions from classic to modern throughout the expansive space. Served from 10am to 10pm, the three-course Mother's Day prix fixe menu starts with a choice of sea bream tartare, La Burrata, or Fregola salad. Entrees include cod papillote, Beef Bourguignon, fresh lemon linguine, and vegan coconut cauliflower veloute. Finish with crispy chocolate finger, "mes petits choux," or fresh fruit salad. Pricing is $69 per person and $35 for children under age 10.

Maple is a family-friendly brunch restaurant located at the beautiful Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge. To honor the changes of the season in the garden, Chef Philip Mack dishes up American cuisine with traditional Southern and Latin influences. For Mother's Day, Maple is serving a Mother's Day brunch buffet priced at $90 for adults and $48 for children. Ms Chi Cafe in Culver City is serving a special Mother's Day prix fixe brunch menu for $29. Chef Shirley Chung is featuring a Trio of Ms Chi Dumplings, Beijing Duck Benedict, Wok Fried Garlic Green Beans, Bahri Dates with Honey and Vanilla Ice Cream, and a choice of Mimosa or Boba Tea. The fourth restaurant from the Toscana Restaurant Group, Nerano in Beverly Hills is featuring an a la carte menu of Executive Chef Michele Lisi's favorite Italian dishes to celebrate Mother's Day. Wolfgang Puck's flagship Spago Beverly Hills will host a Mother’s Day Jazz Brunch featuring featuring the retro sounds of the Jennifer Keith Quintet. Priced at $155 per person, the brunch experience includes the decadent Gelato & Bake Shop pop-up. Supplement your celebration with a visit to the Champagne Cocktail Bar ($20). Opened since 1989, Tosca is a warm and inviting trattoria in the heart of Brentwood. In addition to their traditional Tuscan à la carte menu, Toscana is offering Mother's Day specials like roasted scallops, Insalata Estiva, pizza bianca, squid ink spaghetti with crab, Alaskan halibut, and Cantucci e Vin Santo. The price range for the à la carte specials is $15 - $50.
