Described by the Daily Mail as "the most exciting new project in Major League Soccer," Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) kicked off its inaugural season on March 4 with a 1-0 win against Seattle Sounders FC. LAFC will open its new home, the $350-million Banc of California Stadium, versus Sounders FC at 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 29.

Whether you're a newbie or a longtime MLS fan, going to an LAFC match takes some planning in order to maximize the experience. Wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and read on for tips on the best ways to attend a Los Angeles Football Club match.

Located adjacent to Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Exposition Park, the 22,000-seat Banc of California Stadium is the first open-air stadium built in the city since Dodger Stadium in 1962. During the L.A. 2028 Summer Olympics, the Stadium will host men's and women's soccer matches.

The state-of-the-art "Cathedral of Soccer" boasts numerous amenities:

  • Every seat is within 135 feet of the pitch
  • The closest seats are only 12 feet away from the touchline
  • Steepest seating bowl in Major League Soccer (34 degrees)
  • 86,000 square-foot field of natural Bermuda grass
  • 125,000 square feet of walkways and plazas open to the public
  • 35 suites
  • 440 bicycle parking spaces and bike path integrated with MyFigueroa Project
  • 5% of parking spaces have EV charging stations and 20% will be EV ready infrastructure
  • Stadium is LEED Silver Certified
  • Stadium and Exposition Park are easily accessible from Interstate 110 (aka the Harbor Freeway) and the Expo Park / USC Station of the Metro Rail Expo Line.

The LAFC 2018 regular season runs from March 4 to Oct. 28, 2018. The Banc of California Box Office is located at the Northwest corner of the Stadium, open Monday–Friday from 9am-5pm. The Banc of California Stadium is easily accessible using the Metro Expo Line at the Expo Park/USC Station. From the station, walk along Kinsey Drive or Victory Walk to South Coliseum Drive towards the Stadium. The Expo Line can be accessed with connections at the 7th Street/Metro Center in Downtown L.A. to the Metro Red/Purple Lines; and at the Pico Station to the Metro Blue Line. Fans using the Metro Gold Line can transfer at Union Station to the Metro Red/Purple lines for a connection to the Expo Line.

Here's a pro tip: save time by loading your TAP card with round-trip fare before the match and avoid the long lines at TAP vending machines after the match. For more info, check out the Metro website.


Parking at Exposition Park is limited - plan to arrive early. Parking at Expo Park is $35 on day of event. Purchase season parking now and save $10 per event. Valet Parking is available per event, limited quantity. Additional parking is available at:

LAFC has partnered with Lyft as the official rideshare partner. An enhanced Lyft pick-up and drop-off designated location will be available for fans on match days, located right outside the Southeast Entrance in Parking Lot 6.

Clear Bag Policy

Banc of California Stadium has a Clear Bag Policy in order to provide a safer environment for fans and will consequently also expedite entry into the Stadium. The policy affects the type and size of the bags permitted into the Stadium, not the items (keys, makeup, combs, phones, wallets, etc.). Guests will also be allowed to openly carry a blanket or jacket into the Stadium, although they will be subject to being searched.
