The flagship convention returns for the first time since 2010, drawing thousands of association professionals, generating millions in economic impact, and reinforcing Los Angeles’ standing impact as a premier meetings and events destination

Los Angeles, CA (August 8, 2025)—Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (Los Angeles Tourism), in partnership with the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Convention Center, is proud to welcome ASAE’s 2025 Annual Meeting & Exposition to the Los Angeles Convention Center from August 9-12. Organized by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), the meeting is expected to bring together more than 5,000 association leaders and industry professionals from across the country and abroad.

“We’re proud to welcome ASAE’s Annual Meeting back to Los Angeles,” said Adam Burke, President & CEO of Los Angeles Tourism. “Meetings and events are among the most powerful yet often underestimated contributors to visitation, local jobs, and civic vibrancy. Hosting ASAE not only reaffirms Los Angeles’ status as a premier national meetings destination, but also fuels economic activity across the region and strengthens our city’s reputation as a place to connect, convene, and collaborate.”

This year’s Annual Meeting & Exposition marks ASAE’s first return to Los Angeles since 2010. Following that event, the city secured over $190 million in group business, directly attributed to ASAE attendee leads, demonstrating how large-scale meetings deliver long-term economic returns. According to ASAE, 20% of its decision-makers book future meetings in the host city within five years of attending.

“Meetings and events are an essential part of Los Angeles’ economy, supporting local jobs and businesses across every neighborhood in our region,” said Doane Liu, Chief Tourism Officer, City of Los Angeles. “We’re proud to welcome ASAE and its attendees to experience all that LA has to offer.  This event is a timely reminder of why strategic investment in our convention infrastructure is critical to remaining competitive in the national and international meetings market.”

The City of Los Angeles is currently reviewing plans to renovate and expand the Los Angeles Convention Center, with a City Council vote expected in September. The proposed updates are designed to meet the demands of today’s meeting planners and attendees, ensuring Los Angeles remains a first-choice destination for years to come.

“ASAE is excited to bring our flagship meeting back to Los Angeles — a city that knows how to deliver exceptional experiences and meaningful connections,” said Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE, President and CEO of ASAE. “We deeply value our partnership with the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board and are confident that this vibrant, forward-thinking city will provide an inspiring backdrop for our attendees to imagine new possibilities for their organizations and the communities they serve.”

As one of the most creative and diverse cities in the world, Los Angeles offers an unmatched canvas for meetings and events. With access to working film studios, open-air stadiums, historic theaters, and an impressive entertainment campus steps from the Los Angeles Convention Center, planners can truly uncover the unconventional and design experiences found only in LA. The city’s deep bench of creative and intellectual talent, from keynote speakers to set designers, helps activate content in dynamic, uniquely local ways. At the same time, LA’s distinct regions offer a rich variety of neighborhoods, cultures, and accommodations that continue to surprise and inspire attendees. Los Angeles also makes it easy to get here and get around, thanks to a world-class airport and ever-expanding Metro system that unlocks access and reduces the footprint of major events. And as the future host of global gatherings like the FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl, and Olympic & Paralympic Games, Los Angeles continues to be a place where events don’t just take place—they shape legacies that endure far beyond closing day.
