Note from TMD Board Chair, Javier Cano

Dear LATMD Hoteliers,
This has been an extraordinarily difficult time for Los Angeles, and gratefully, our hospitality industry has been recognized for the way it has collectively come together to support those in need. From providing accommodations, meals, transportation, essential supplies, and much more, our hotels have significantly contributed to support those in our community, and I am proud to be part of our amazing industry.
We’re also very appreciative of our partners at Los Angeles Tourism who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the most up-to-date information was distributed to the travel industry and trade media, and also to the City Tourism Department for their efforts to retain all conventions and events including the very impactful Grammy’s.
Looking ahead, it is important that we collectively message Los Angeles is Open for Business & Welcoming Visitors from around the Globe. The team at Visit California has also been very supportive in delivering this message and will be launching a major promotional initiative supporting Los Angeles this month and travel to California.
This will be followed by the launch of LA Tourism’s new and timely meaningful and creative campaign #WeLoveLA which launches March 3rd. This campaign will be advertised nationally in the U.S and will extend to seven international markets.
The Tourism Marketing District (TMD) Board of Directors met this month and approved reserve funds to further support the #WeLoveLA campaign. The TMD will continue to work with our hospitality community and collaborate with our partners to continue to welcome visitors with the warmth and creativity that makes LA so unique.
Javier
