As Angelenos go to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 6, bars and restaurants across L.A. will be offering election-themed food and drink specials and hosting viewing parties. From $1 cocktails and 1-cent beers to free sangria and pizza, read on for the best Election Day specials and viewing parties in Los Angeles. Don't forget your "I Voted" sticker!

Metro is offering free bus and train rides on Election Day. The public can also ride Metro Bike Share to the polls by using the promo code "1162018" at any bike station kiosk to get a free single ride (30 minutes). It's $1.75 every 30 minutes thereafter. Access riders and their companions will also be able to travel free on trips to and from the polls.

Ridesharing apps Lyft and Uber are offering discounts on rides to the polls on Election Day.

  • Lyft The Ride to Vote: Promo code at BuzzFeed for 50% off a ride to the polls.
  • Uber Drives the Vote: Use the promo code "VOTE2018" for $10 off a single ride to the polls on the most affordable Uber option available. (Express POOL, POOL, or UberX, in that order)

El afamado Acorazado USS IOWA fue ordenado el 01 de julio de 1939, comisionado el 22 de febrero de 1943, y sirvió al país por casi 50 años. Fue nombrado el “Barco Naval Más Grande del Mundo” por sus enormes armas, pesado blindaje, alta velocidad, longevidad y flexibilidad para la modernización, lo que le permitió mantener la paz con tecnología.

También conocido como el “Acorazado de los Presidentes”, el IOWA fue equipado en la Segunda Guerra Mundial para ser el estandarte que llevaría al Presidente Franklin D. Roosevelt por el Atlántico en 1943 para reuniones con el Primer Ministro Británico Winston Churchill y el Soviético Joseph Stalin. En el barco fue instalada una bañera como comodidad para Roosvelt, haciéndolo el único barco naval para batalla de los EE.UU. que tuviera una bañera presidencial.

El Acorazado IOWA también fue re-comisionado en 1984 por el Vicepresidente George H.W. Bush, quien sería posteriormente el Comandante en Jefe del barco desde 1989 y hasta que el barco fue sacado de comisión en 1990.
