Wine lovers rejoice! There are plenty of restaurants, bars and one-of-a-kind venues in Los Angeles that are sure to fulfill your inner-oenophile, whether you’re looking for a tasting, a rare bottle or a truly unique touring experience. Here are the top places in Los Angeles to get your wine fix.

a.o.c.

This wine bar and restaurant boasts an extensive wine menu – 50 different wines are available to order by the glass. Enjoy your wine of choice at the chic bar area, or snag a table on the outside patio to soak up the California sun. A.O.C. also serves up a wide selection of truly delicious small plates and shareable mains to complement the wine of your choosing.

Barbrix

A converted 1940s house serves as the setting for Barbrix, a cozy wine bar and Mediterranean restaurant located in the Silver Lake Hills. The wide-ranging wine list features hard-to-find bottles from around the globe. Best of all, Barbrix has a late night happy hour (10 p.m. to close) Sunday through Thursday, when all wines by the glass are half-price.

Bodega Wine Bar - Santa Monica

The idea behind Bodega Wine Bar was to create a space that feels like you’re drinking in someone’s living room, and that’s exactly the vibe at this Santa Monica favorite. The cozy lounge provides a good selection of wines without the pretense usually found at wine bars. Come on Wednesday to get any bottle of wine for $20, all night long!

Bar Covell

The premise for Bar Covell is unique – the Los Feliz bar serves 150 different wines, but it has no wine list. Instead, wines are handpicked for you by a knowledgeable bartender, who will ask what type of wine you are looking for. (Don’t worry, you can taste the wine before committing to it!) While the wine is the focus of this inviting spot, Covell offers a menu of small plates, charcuterie boards and other light bites that pair nicely with whatever wine is bestowed upon you by your server.

Esters Wine Shop & Bar

Esters is the place to go if you’re looking for a special bottle of wine – or just want to come in for a drink. The sleek Santa Monica space has floor-to-ceiling racks of wine, and carries bottles from small producers as well as high-end bottles that are sure to impress any wine connoisseur. Come in to find the perfect bottle to give as a gift (or keep for yourself), or sit at the bar to enjoy the bar scene and light bites. Esters also offers weekly tasting events.

This picturesque tasting room located off Mulholland is the perfect place for an afternoon getaway. Bring some friends and a picnic, and enjoy wine tastings and bottles at this rustic chic space. On the weekends, enjoy live music and dancing along with your bottle! Admission is free, but each group of two to four people must purchase a minimum of one bottle of wine.

Malibu Wine Safaris

This one-of-a-kind tour allows you to have a taste of local wines while experiencing wildlife. The safari takes you around a 1,000-acre vineyard - guests enjoy wine pairings and mingle with zebras, camels and giraffes. It’s a perfect adventure for those who love their wine and exotic animals.

The Otheroom

With locations in the heart of Venice on Abbot Kinney Boulevard and on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park, The Otheroom is a perfect bar for after-work drinks or a cozy date. The minimalist meet-up spot is cool but not stuffy, and has a wide variety of fine wines available, sure to please a sophisticated wine palate.

San Antonio Winery & Restaurant

The landmark San Antonio Winery dates to 1917 and has been a staple of the Southern California wine scene for generations. This historic establishment is the only operating winery in Los Angeles, and offers daily tastings and complimentary wine tours. Stop by to sample the Riboli Family of Wines, pick up a bottle in the expansive wine shop, or celebrate a special occasion at the on-site restaurants.

Sonoma Wine Garden

If you’re looking for an ocean view while satisfying your wine needs, Sonoma Wine Garden on the Dining Deck at Santa Monica Place is the perfect spot. The outdoor patio is the ideal place to watch the sunset while sipping on a glass of prosecco, Cabernet Sauvignon or one of the many other wines available at the picturesque venue. Sonoma Wine Garden hosts Happy Hour daily from 3-7 p.m. - select wines are $8 a glass, and bar bites range from $5 to $10.

Zinque

Both Zinqué locations offer a plethora of outdoor seating and a charming atmosphere in which to enjoy a glass of wine or two – or more. The French-inspired wine bar and coffee shop is fun spot for large groups and intimate gatherings alike, where you can easily spend an entire night. (Non-wine) menu highlights include the “le bowl” and the salmon tartine.
