July comes to a close with another jam-packed week of events in Los Angeles! On Monday, July 28, Lady Gaga brings her Mayhem Ball to Kia Forum for the first of a four-night engagement at the arena. The 2025 Leagues Cup, which brings together Major League Soccer and Liga MX teams, gets going on Tuesday, July 29. Phase One of the international tournament includes three matches for both LAFC and LA Galaxy on their home pitches between this week and next.
August starts with the three-day K-pop convention KCON at Crypto.com Arena and esus Christ Superstar starring Cynthia Erivo and Adam Lambert at the Hollywood Bowl. On Saturday, August 2, Hard Summer takes over Hollywood Park for a two-day festival with headliners Kaytranada, Gesaffelstein and a lineup of heavy-hitter DJ producers.

Alain Whyte - Moroccan Lounge (July 28)
Alain Whyte has written for artists ranging from Madonna to Lil Yachty, but he might be best known as the guitarist and songwriting partner for Morrissey during much of the 1990s and 2000s. On Monday, July 28, Whyte launches his 2025 Acoustic Residency at Downtown LA's Moroccan Lounge, where he’ll be joined by DJs Protokall and Ray Kaos. Lady Gaga - Kia Forum (July 28-29, Aug. 1-2)
The Mayhem Ball begins on Monday, July 28, when Lady Gaga plays the first of four shows at Kia Forum. The superstar returns on Tuesday, July 29, and will continue her run of concerts on August 1 and 2. Tickets at Ticketmaster.

LA Sparks vs. Las Vegas Aces - Crypto.com Arena (July 29)
The LA Sparks hit their home court on Tuesday, July 29, when they face off against the Las Vegas Aces at Crypto.com Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 8pm.

Deltron 3030 - The Bellwether (July 29)
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Deltron 3030’s landmark debut, Dan the Automator, Del the Funky Homosapien and Kid Koala have reunited to perform the hip-hop concept album in full. Their July 25 show at The Bellwether is already sold out, so a second date was added for Tuesday, July 29. Don’t miss out!





2025 Leagues Cup: LAFC vs. Mazatlán - BMO Stadium (July 29)
The 2025 Leagues Cup, bringing together 18 Major League Soccer teams and 18 Liga MX teams, begins on Tuesday, July 29. In Los Angeles, LAFC will kick off the tournament with a match against Mazatlán at BMO Stadium. The home team will continue Phase One of the 2025 Leagues Cup on Friday, August 1 against Pachuca.

Jessie Reyez - YouTube Theater (July 30)
Juno-winning and GRAMMY-nominated Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez dropped her latest album, Paid in Memories, early in the spring. She’s on the road now, with a stop at Inglewood’s YouTube Theater set for Wednesday, July 30. Tickets are going fast for this show, so don’t snooze on getting yours.

Avery Sunshine - The Sun Rose (July 30-31)
Avery Sunshine, whose 2024 album So Glad to Know You earned a GRAMMY for Best Progressive R&B Album, spends two nights at The Sun Rose this week. Catch her on Wednesday, July 30 or Thursday, July 31. Tickets at Dice.

Joe Bonamassa - Greek Theatre (July 31)
With his latest album, Breakthrough, out on July 18, blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa launches his U.S. tour at The Greek Theatre on Thursday, July 31. Gates open 90 minutes before the show’s 8pm start time.

Takuya Nakamura - Zebulon (July 31)
Known as both a jazz musician and an innovative DJ, Takuya Nakamura has collaborated with artists ranging from John Cage to Quincy Jones to CoCoRosie. A truly unique artist, Nakamura will perform at Zebulon on Thursday, July 31. Tickets at Dice.

Leagues Cup 2025: L.A. Galaxy vs. Club Tijuana - Dignity Health Sports Park (July 31)
The LA Galaxy begins its run in the Leagues Cup 2025 on Thursday, July 31, when they match up against Club Tijuana at Dignity Health Sports Park. Phase One of the tournament will continue for the Galaxy on Sunday, August 3, when they play Cruz Azul on their home pitch.

KCON - Crypto.com Arena (Aug. 1-3)
For over a decade, KCON has brought together legions of fans united in their love for K-pop. This year’s three-day event at Crypto.com Arena features appearances from Cravity, Hwasa, JO1 and many more. While some ticket packages have already sold out, there are still a variety of single day options available. Take your pick of dates and head to Downtown LA for KCON on August 1, 2 or 3.

"Jesus Christ Superstar" - Hollywood Bowl (Aug. 1-3)
Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s landmark rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, will be performed at the Hollywood Bowl on August 1-3 with Cynthia Erivo in the title role and Adam Lambert as Judas. The revamped classic directed and choreographed by Tony winner Sergio Trujillo features a star-studded cast that also includes Milo Manheim and Raúl Esparza. Gates open two hours before the 8pm showtime.

Yesika Salgado - Grand Performances (Aug. 1)
She Speaks, the poetry series presented by Grand Performances comes to a close on Friday, August 1 with a performance from Yesika Salgado. The co-founder of poetry collective Chingona Fire, Salgado is an award-winning poet and author of Hermosa, Tesoro and Corazón.

If I Awaken in Los Angeles - The Ford (Aug. 1)
Gina Belafonte directs If I Awaken in Los Angeles, a multimedia performance that delves into the city’s history produced in partnership with Get Lit - Words Unite. Guest artists include Jason Chu, Sekou Andrews and hip-hop duo T.H.R.O.N.E. and more. Gates open 90 minutes before the 8pm showtime.

KCRW Summer Nights - CAAM (Aug. 1)
KCRW Summer Nights heads to the California African American Museum at Exposition Park on Friday, August 1. DJ Linafornia headlines the all-ages, free dance party, which also includes a set from KCRW’s own Tyler Boudreaux. The event includes after-hours admission to CAAM.

Hard Summer - Hollywood Park (Aug. 2)
With Kaytranada headlining on Saturday, August 2, and Gesaffelstein on Sunday, August 3, you know this year’s edition of Hard Summer will be lit! The two-day festival at Hollywood Park also includes Loco Dice, The Blessed Madonna, Busta Rhymes, Sara Landry, Feid, Dom Dolla, Four Tet, Barry Can’t Swim and more. General Admission and VIP are available for both single day tickets and weekend passes.

Frankie and the Witch Fingers - Teragram Ballroom (Aug. 2)
Local punk outfit Frankie and the Witch Fingers released the rollicking new album, Trash Classics, in June and they’ll conclude a West Coast tour at Teragram Ballroom on Saturday, August 2. Catch the band before they head out to Europe for a handful of dates. Tickets at Ticketmaster.

"Point Break" - Hollywood Forever (Aug. 2)
Keanu Reeves plays an undercover FBI agent trying to bust a clique of surfers/bank robbers led by Patrick Swayze in Point Break. See the summertime action classic for the first or 100th time Saturday, August 2, when Cinespia screens Point Break at Hollywood Forever. Gates open at 6:45pm, giving you plenty of time to picnic and socialize before the 8:30pm screening.

Eddie Chacon - Levitt Pavilion (Aug. 2)
Levitt Pavilion’s 18th season of outdoor summer concerts continues on Saturday, August 2, with singer Eddie Chacon and South Bay soul revivalists Thee Heart Tones. The event is free, but RSVP via Eventbrite is recommended.

esperanza spalding - Music Center (Aug. 2)
esperanza spalding heads to the Music Center for a special engagement on Saturday, August 2, when the GRAMMY-winner headlines the venue’s annual free concert. The outdoor event will take place at Jerry Moss Plaza and, while all are welcome, it’s best to RSVP through the Music Center’s website.

Boleros de Noche - The Ford (Aug. 2)
Head to The Ford on Saturday, August 2 for the ninth annual Boleros de Noche. Last year’s event sold out and with a reunited Marisoul y Los Hermanos Carlos on this year’s bill alongside Bolero Soul, you might want to pick up tickets sooner rather than later.

Riverfest - Los Angeles State Historic Park (Aug. 3)
Friends of the Los Angeles River bring the fourth annual RiverFest to Los Angeles State Historic Park on Sunday, August 3. With a mix of live performances, visual art and vendors, the event aims to bring together the local community with the history of the LA River. Admission is free, but VIP tickets are also available.
