Note from TMD Board Chair, Javier Cano - August 2022

We are now mid-way through 2022 and the past six months have shown strong signs of recovery for our hospitality community as evidenced by the Lodging Metrics for the first half of the year listed below.   

Given yesterday’s announcement that Los Angeles County will not mandate masks, we want to also recognize the collaborate partnership between the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and our local hospitality community to ensure it continues to keep health and safety a high priority for all.  

Los Angeles kicked off the next six months with a very successful MLB All Star Game this month at Dodger Stadium and Play Ball Park at the Los Angeles Convention Center!   As we look towards the next six months, we are encouraged by the positive reports of consumer confidence and interest in travel to Los Angeles.

On behalf of the City of Los Angeles and the TMD Board of Directors, we also want to thank the TMD hotels and motels for their support and compliance to the TMD Assessment increase this May, as it will continue to expedite recovery for our TMD hospitality community.
