Dear LATMD Hoteliers,

Seeing you at our virtual TMD Regional Meetings in December was a rewarding way to end last year and begin 2023 as your shared optimism for LA’s hotel industry was exciting and encouraging. Your enthusiasm has been further buoyed in the past week from positive national news about the outlook of the economy in 2023.

Our TMD hotels also have much to look forward as we look to industry projections regarding return of meetings and business travel and the renewed interest from international travelers and increased international airline seat capacity to Los Angeles.

Los Angeles hotels are extremely well positioned to benefit significantly from many exciting new attractions and events planned for 2023 that will be true demand drivers for hotel stays across TMD regions.

2023 highlights will feature a yearlong celebration of the “100th Anniversary of the Hollywood Sign” and the Centennial Celebration of “100 Years of Storytelling” at the Warner Bros Studios.   The highly anticipated “Super Nintendo World” attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood, opening February 17, is expected to draw unprecedented attendees.

Also, a very full calendar of sporting events, concerts, festivals will be major draws in addition to popular events including LA Fleet Week in May, Los Angeles Gay Pride in June and Anime Expo in July to just name a few.  For a full list visit DiscoverLosAngeles.com.

We are also looking forward to our Annual TMD meeting this spring as we will have exciting news to share with each of you about the renewal of our Los Angeles Tourism Marketing District, which will continue the momentum of building hotel demand into the long-term future.

All my best,

Javier Cano
