A Note from Ernie - June 2019
Dear Friends,
Next week, PCMA – the world’s largest network of meeting professionals and events strategists – will host its 2019 Educational Conference right here in Los Angeles. We’re thrilled to showcase L.A.’s hotels, unique venues and attractions to hundreds of key decision-makers who have the power to bring future meetings, conventions and events to our dynamic destination.
As the destination host, the Los Angeles Tourism team is working hard to curate a memorable EduCon experience. Thank you to all our partners and members who have been actively engaged in this valuable opportunity; whether it’s through sponsorships, amenities or simply welcoming PCMA attendees through your doors.
TOT collections continue to be a positive revenue stream for the City of Los Angeles as collections for April 2019 totaled $28.1 million. This brings our fiscal year total to $264.2 million, a 7.8% year-over-year increase and in line with the adopted budget.
Be sure to save the date for our 7th annual Market Outlook Forum on Tuesday, August 20 taking place at the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE. Market Outlook Forum is an exclusive, members-only event highlighting our upcoming marketing plans and the latest tourism industry trends. Check your inboxes for the formal invitation to register in the coming days.
These are just a few of the many updates from Los Angeles Tourism that we’re sharing with you in June’s newsletter. As always, we will continue to work on behalf of our members and partners to bring the world to Los Angeles.
Best wishes,
Ernest Wooden Jr.
President and CEO
