You love, love, love visiting big cities. After all, where else can you find countless choices for creative and fine dining, premium shopping, and limitless art, culture, and entertainment at your fingertips?  Furthermore, how many cities can claim to provide all of this, along with near-perfect weather all year long? Los Angeles can, which is why it is one of your favorite travel destinations. However, you do concede that there is something to be said for being able to retreat from the throbbing energy of a metropolis after you’ve had your fill. That’s why the Luxe Sunset Boulevard suits you so perfectly.

A bona fide oasis of tranquility, the Luxe Sunset Boulevard is situated on seven stunning, sprawling - and yes, luxe - acres on LA’s famed Sunset Boulevard, at the entrance one of the city’s most famed enclaves—Bel-Air. It’s within minutes of everything you love most about Los Angeles, yet from the moment you arrive, you can’t help but feel that you’re checking into an exclusive wellness retreat or resort.

The ivy-covered portico and gentle water fountain that welcome you to the boutique hotel create an ambiance of serenity and sophistication, which is a first impression that will last as you make your way indoors. Within the Mary McDonald interior designed lobby, you find that the subtle earth tones, and modern, sophisticated furnishings enhance the peaceful feeling bubbling up inside you, while the friendly concierge’s easy smile makes you feel welcome at once.

Inside your Executive Suite, the overall soothing vibe is equally refreshing. In neutral tones—save for thoughtful, understated pops of blue by way of decorative pillows and a casually chic sofa throw— the subdued color scheme is offset by the gorgeous view of lush greenery visible through the sliding glass doors leading to your private balcony. You’ve also got a full living area, complete with couch, chairs, end tables, and a coffee table. And although you’re hoping to avoid all work during your stay, you’ve got free Wi-Fi and the pretty white parsons desk does afford you a nice place to set up your laptop…just in case.

Although you doubt the bathroom could do much to increase the calming energy of your room, a walk inside proves you wrong. It is positively sumptuous, with a shower, separate sunken tub, gorgeous tile work, loads of super soft towels, a terry cloth bathrobe, and darling little topiaries, which provide a pop of bright green life, much as the view from your balcony perfectly accentuates your room’s neutral color scheme.

You could spend all day in your suite, but the grounds of the Luxe Sunset Boulevard deserve your admiration. You take time to appreciate the cozy seating areas dotting the property, which is laden with leafy trees, shrubs, and ivy, as you make your way to the heated outdoor pool. Again, you’re treated to an environment of refinement and privacy, as the pool is surrounded by hedges, peppered with palm trees, and offers plenty of options for respite via cabanas and lounge chairs.

You’re drowsy after a swim and sunbathing, so it’s time to boost your energy by getting the endorphins flowing. You head to the fitness center for a bit of cardio and strength training, and before you know it, you’ve worked up an appetite. After showering and changing, you head downstairs to Sirocco, where you’re eager to dive into Parisian-born, world-class Executive Chef Olivier Rousselle’s culinary masterpieces.

The inside of Sirocco is vibrantly designed, with topiaries, indoor trees, and bold orange table settings, complete with succulents illuminated by candlelight. You enjoy a glass of wine as you peruse the Mediterranean inspired menu - you finally settle on the Grilled Spanish Octopus appetizer, which is exquisite. You follow up with the Herb-Roasted Rack of Lamb, which is served with a polenta cake and swiss chard. Overall, your dinner constitutes the best meal you’ve had in a long time. You can hardly wait to try the Sirocco Sunday Brunch, which has earned a reputation as one of the best in Los Angeles.

You still have all of Saturday awaiting you, so before retiring for the evening, you head over to Sirocco Bar + Lounge to unwind with a cocktail and plan how you’ll spend your next day in L.A. Seated comfortably on a couch with your feet propped up on an ottoman, you run through your options.

The Luxe Sunset Boulevard puts you within minutes of shopping at the Brentwood Country Mart, world-famous Rodeo Drive or the 3rd Street Promenade, and realistically you could hit all three by mid-afternoon. But you’ll have to make the final decision tomorrow because you need to set aside plenty of time to take in the art, architecture, and the gardens at the Getty Center, which is just 1.5 miles from your hotel.

Then you’re planning to dine at either Tavern or Sugarfish by Sushi Nozawa - both are local favorites and less than two miles from the Luxe Sunset Boulevard.

Returning to your suite, you smile at the nightly turndown service you received which leaves your bed looking more than just a little enticing. And although there’s a large wall mounted flat screen for your enjoyment, you choose instead to simply climb in bed and gaze out at the palms, and the softly lit night sky. It’s so serene, that you smile feeling as if you’ve been let in on the best-kept secret in Los Angeles, which is the spacious and sophisticated Luxe Sunset Boulevard.
