The 9th Annual LA Punk Film Festival returns October 9-18th, 2025, bringing together filmmakers, musicians, and fans for two nights of unfiltered creativity at The Sherry Theater in North Hollywood.
Born from the underground and still beating at the heart of youth culture, punk is more than music —our films mirror each individuals unique voices, individual liberty and freedom with uncompromising opinions. From its DIY roots to its modern-day mashups, punk culture has always challenged authority, pushed artistic boundaries, and championed individuality.
“Punk isn’t just a style; it’s a declaration,” says festival founder Sandie West. “It gives people permission to speak out, to create, to stand up for their beliefs — and to do it with passion for their art.”
This year’s festival showcases:
Independent films and documentaries exploring punk history, politics, and subcultures
Live performances from emerging and legacy punk bands
Filmmaker Q&As, workshops, and an awards celebration honoring fearless storytelling
"Punk has continually reinvented itself — from 1970s DIY clubs to global street art, from protest anthems to zines and indie cinema. The LA Punk Film Festival celebrates that evolution, spotlighting voices who use the punk spirit to defend creativity, freedom, and community both at home and worldwide" says West.
