Music Director Clyde Mitchell welcomes us to a celebration of America’s Wild West, featuring music from favorite Westerns, and Western-inspired music from favorite composers. We start with movie themes, and a Hoedown by our founder, George Berres. We then change the pace to honor the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II before coming back to the West for big orchestral pieces by Williams and Copland. We end with Grand Canyon Suite by Ferde Grofé, best known as the orchestrator of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.
