"Through Our Own Gaze: Decolonizing and Reclaiming Black Femininity" Juneteenth Event

“Through Our Own Gaze: Decolonizing and Reclaiming Black Femininity” is a Juneteenth art exhibition and fundraiser for the Equal Justice Society on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in South Los Angeles. The event will feature ‘BADUola’ by Marryam Moma in a program spotlighting Black maternal health, Black Women’s reproductive choice, Black Women’s bodily autonomy, and decolonizing and reclaiming the narrative of Black femininity. Art by Danni Conner, Abi Salami, and Shanneil Clarke will also be featured. Tickets are $200 and include heavy hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. The event address will be provided upon RSVP. Attendees can purchase one of 12 limited-edition 24” by 24” lithographs of Moma’s 'BADUola'. This EJS Juneteenth event is the only opportunity to acquire this special lithograph.
