MUTT – A New Musical Comedy (OPENING NIGHT)

(THROUGH JUNE 24) New Musical “MUTT” Brings Laughs, Love & Live Pet Adoptions to LA’s Barnsdall Gallery Theatre, June 12–24, 2025
Following a completely sold-out workshop production at Thymele Arts, the irreverent and heartwarming new show, MUTT – A New Musical Comedy, returns with a fully-staged run at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre. Tickets are $48.
A bold mix of satire and soul, MUTT follows a wisecracking, three-legged shelter dog and his devoted chew toy as they chase fame, fortune, and a forever home in the glittery chaos of Hollywood. But beyond the laughs and show tunes, MUTT carries a bigger mission: raising awareness for shelter dogs and supporting the ongoing fight for animal welfare.
Now featuring costumes, sets, and full theatrical lighting, the production is teaming up with several Southern California rescue organizations to present LA’s Second Musical Pet Adoption — a large-scale adoption event that culminates in a themed performance of the show. Each night will shine a spotlight on real rescue stories and give audiences the chance to meet adoptable animals each weekend who are in need of a forever home.
Special Themed Nights Include:
Best Friend Night – Celebrate your closest companions, furry or otherwise.
Emotional Support Animal Night – Honoring the animals who support us through thick and thin
Rescue the Rescuers Night – A tribute to the heroes working on the front lines of animal welfare
Senior Dog Night – Show love for the golden oldies still wagging strong
Dog Daddy’s Day – Celebrating Doggy Dads for Father’s Day
Bark Broadway Night – A musical celebration for theater lovers and dog lovers alike
Each evening will feature interactive lobby activities, rescue group spotlights, and opportunities to meet animals available for adoption — reinforcing the show’s central message: every animal deserves love, care, and a chance at center stage.
MUTT has a run time of 1 hour and 58 minutes, plus a 10-minute intermission. While we honor our furry friends, we are unable to accommodate them in the theater itself.
Join us this June as we save dogs through the power of theater — and prove that sometimes, a musical can change more than just minds.
