Josef Leimberg is a visionary trumpeter, composer, and producer whose unique sound bridges jazz, funk, hip hop, and soul. He rose to prominence through collaborations with Terrace Martin on Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning To Pimp a Butterfly, contributing to standout tracks like “How Much a Dollar Cost,” named President Obama’s favorite song of 2015. Leimberg has worked with an impressive roster of artists including Erykah Badu, Snoop Dogg, Robert Glasper, Thundercat, SZA, Madlib and Miguel. His critically acclaimed debut Astral Progressions was released on World Galaxy, the jazz imprint of Alpha Pup Records, blending celestial jazz with grounded groove. His forthcoming album, Mystic Journey, features Kamasi Washington, MonoNeon, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Miguel Atwood Ferguson, Dwight Trible, Flora Purim, and more—continuing his mission to elevate music as a spiritual and boundary-breaking force.
