St. Matthew's Music Guild: Season Finale – Jens Lindemann

One of the world’s preeminent brass players, trumpeter Jens Lindemann, will perform Johann Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto in E flat major and a selection of popular classics with The Chamber Orchestra at St. Matthew’s at the St. Matthew’s Music Guild’s season finale on Friday, May 30, at 8pm. The concert takes place at St. Augustine by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 1227 Fourth Street in Santa Monica.
Lindemann, celebrated for his artistry and the first classical brass soloist to ever receive the Order of Canada, has played both jazz and classical repertoire in every major concert venue in the world, including a featured performance at the 2010 Olympics for an audience of 2 billion people.
He has performed with dozens of major symphony orchestra and renowned conductors, was lead trumpet for the Canadian Brass, and has made dozens of solo TV and film appearances over more than forty years.
Also featured on the May 30 program will be Stravinsky’s Dances Concertantes and the Overture to Rossini’s opera Tancredi.
