TAKE FLIGHT! Event of the Year 2025

California Dance Institute, the In-School and After-School Arts Education Program and West Coast Affiliate of Jacques D’Amboise’s world-renowned National Dance Institute, motivates children to move toward success in life through accessible dance and music education. Step by step, in sneakers, with music and movement, CDI puts their minds and bodies in motion.

California Dance Institute (CDI) will present their 25th annual Event of the Year show on Thursday, May 29th at 7:00 p.m. at the historical Wilshire Ebell Theatre. The show will feature 150 children from Los Angeles public schools in a professionally staged production accompanied by a live, professional band and vocalists. The Event of the Year performance is the culmination of this school year’s after-school program, which teaches life and learning lessons through an energetic dance style and live music. This year, students and staff of CDI take flight, celebrating not only aviation and birds but students' own imaginations and dreams!

Regular tickets are $15 for the 7:00 p.m. show.
The performance will be followed by a Gala Reception at 8:00 p.m., where drinks and food will be served; tickets to the Gala are $80. All proceeds go to CDI’s free programming for LAUSD students.
