Benita Bike's DanceArt in Burbank!

Have you ever wondered how dances are made? How do dancers magically change ideas into movements that express mood, image and story? On May 14, Benita Bike’s DanceArt will not only present you with a number of beautifully performed dances, but you’ll also be invited to ask questions and make comments about the work you see. We want to hear what you think! Known for its “beautifully evocative choreography and lovely company of dancers,” the Company looks forward to share its own brand of musicality, architectural choreography, and elegant dancing with Burbank audiences. This concert program features:
▪ Griot Songs – 3 stages of womanhood: child into woman, young womanhood, and maturity
▪ For Rose –about the passing of choreographer Benita Bike's mother Rose. Stark and poignant, this dance touches on feelings of love, discord, and death.
▪ From Where I Sit – Different characters share their states of mind in vignettes titled “Ascending,” “Tired of it All,” “Corruptor,” “Solace,” & “On Edge.”
