City Year Los Angeles’ 14th Annual Spring Break Gala

City Year Los Angeles - a youth-powered education nonprofit organization - will unite community and business leaders, celebrities, influencers, families, tutors, and mentors at its 14th annual Spring Break Gala to honor Viola Davis and Erik Feig. Davis and Feig will be recognized for their commitment to advancing educational opportunities and their ongoing support of City Year’s mission in helping students in underserved communities succeed.
Hosted by Juju Green, also known as Straw Hat Goofy, the event will feature a performance by Leon Bridges as well as interactive activations, games, giveaways, photo opportunities and more. The Gala will raise critical funds for the students, AmeriCorps members, and schools that City Year supports, while celebrating the power of community and resilience of Los Angeles following the recent wildfires.
The Spring Break Gala is City Year Los Angeles’ annual benefit that brings together over 600 guests—including community, and business leaders, celebrities and influencers, families, and the tutors and mentors they recruit from the Americorps program— to help thousands of students each year across L.A. thrive in school and in life.
City Year is a trailblazing, youth-powered organization with a dual mission: expanding educational opportunity for under-resourced students and developing leaders through national service. Research shows the more time a student spends with a young person from the program serving as a mentor and tutor, the better the student outcomes—academically, socially, and emotionally. A public-private partnership, City Year is a proud member of AmeriCorps, a federally funded program operating in 29 U.S. cities with international affiliates in the U.K. and South Africa. Today, 37,000 alums continue to lead and serve where they live and work.
