Tamale Masterclass at Gracias Madre

Kickoff the Holiday Season with a 2-hour Tamale-making Workshop and Cacao Ceremony led by Executive Chef Diana Briscoe.

Celebrate the holiday season with a blend of gratitude and traditional cooking at Gracias Madre. Join us for a two-hour, beginner-friendly workshop led by Executive Chef Diana Briscoe. We’ll kick off with a cacao ceremony featuring Koracao, a 100% ceremonial-grade cacao sourced from indigenous communities in South America, as a way to give thanks. Then, enjoy hands-on instruction in the art of crafting tamales – an age-old tradition.

As part of the experience, guests will learn how to create two different plant-based fillings and make six tamales. Following the workshop, guests will enjoy a delicious brunch of cacao and freshly-made tamales in Gracias Madre’s private dining room.
Before leaving, Gracias Madre will package the tamales made during class for guests to take home along with cooking instructions to share with family and friends.
