Announcing the LA Jazz Society's 2024 JAZZ Tribute Concert & Awards
Saturday, October 5th, 7:30pm at CSUN Plaza del Sol Performance Hall

Honorees and performances include:

* Marcus Miller with his band - Lifetime Achievement Award
* Veronica Swift with her quartet - Jazz Vocalist Award
* Kris Bowers - Jazz Composer/Arranger Award
* Taylor Lee - Flip & Shelly Manne New Talent Award

Special guests: CSUN JAZZ BAND

Also honoring Chad Bloom, Robert Hackett and John Mosely for the Jazz Educators Award.
And a special Jazz Advocacy Award will salute and thank LA City Council President Paul Krekorian.

For over 40 years, the Society has been committed to 'Keeping Jazz Alive' and presents annual programs such as Jazz in Schools (reaching over 25,000 children in the LAUSD each February); the Bill Green Mentorship Program (annually presenting over 25 young music students with lessons from Jazz professionals, culminating in a concert at Catalina's each Spring); the Jeff Clayton Memorial New Note Award (a commission to create new work and perform at Angel City Music Festival) and our Young Musicians Showcase, giving an opportunity to exceptional young musicians to perform on our virtual showcase. This annual Tribute event is our main fundraiser of the year.
