About Cara Connors:

As seen on Just For Laughs, Hulu, Apple TV! Cara Connors is an LA-based comedian, actor, writer, and multifaceted homosexual with an ass that won't quit. Connors' appearances include two seasons as a series regular on E!'s Dating #NoFilter, and her own investigative comedy Cara Takes Up Space on OUTtv.

Most recently, Cara became a member of The Groundlings Sunday Company, filmed a set for Crooked Media’s Lovett or Leave It, and her debut stand-up album Straight for Pay was named one of Paste Magazine's Comedy Albums of the Year. Her first one-hour comedy special with Comedy Dynamics was released March 12th, 2024 on Amazon Prime, Apple TV and was recently featured in the New York Times.

A headliner across North America, her solo show, Straight for Pay, first debuted at the UCB Headliners series at the New York Comedy Festival. She has since toured her hour to over 35 cities, recorded it as an album, and debuted it this summer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at the Pleasance Courtyard. Cara regularly performs at indie comedy shows across Los Angeles, including Dynasty Typewriter, Largo, and Hollywood Improv.

About Straight for Pay:

“The comedians are either straight, or willing for the right price, but most of them are gay for free.” says Connors, who founded Straight for Pay in late Summer 2021 as a backyard monthly show. “I book my favorites, most of whom happen to be queer, and curate shows so audiences see diverse lineups offering radically different perspectives, versus the typical one-woman-buried-in the-20-guys-slinging-dick-jokes at an old school comedy club.” The philosophy resonated with audiences and developed a cult following among LA’s indie scene with the likes of Meg Stalter, Rory Scovel, Sheng Wang, and Hannah Einbinder performing to sold-out audiences with no formal advertising or press. The show then went on to become a popular weekly queer showcase for over a year at The Glendale Room, before finding its new home at the iconic Permanent Records Roadhouse in Los Angeles in the spring of 2024.
