Unabashedly extroverted, with a penchant for glamour, you’ve always relished the 90210 way of life—to you, the classic L.A. experience involves cruising through Beverly Hills in a convertible, sunglasses glinting in the Southern California sunshine. For this reason, it always feels like home at SLS Beverly Hills, where “luxurious” doesn’t mean “pretentious”; where “boutique” is never stuffy; where the exuberant interiors, designed by Philippe Starck, heighten the sense of upbeat fantasy that is, in your view, the essence of Los Angeles.

You open your eyes in your mirror-paneled guest room, its chairs shaped like teacups. The pillow top bed begs you to sleep in, but the rainforest super-size shower beckons. These are the decisions you love to make.

For breakfast, you pop down to the lobby restaurant, Tres by José Andrés and order the Huevos a la Cubana "Andy Garcia" – 12 quail eggs sunny side up with calasparra rice, tomato sauce, bacon, and banana puree. Whether through design or dining, the SLS never fails to surprise the senses.

You jog to Beverly Gardens Park and perform some sun salutations next to Yayoi Kusama’s colorful Hymn of Life: Tulips sculpture. Then it's back to the hotel, where you’re scheduled to receive a Hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment at CIEL Spa at SLS, an all-white, ethereal space that resembles the belly of a cloud.

You’re so in love with the SLS’s location—Beverly Hill’s iconic stores and restaurants, known for their unparalleled glitz, are a few minutes drive away. You head towards tree-lined, mythical Rodeo Drive, with its “golden triangle” cobblestone walkway.

You spend an hour wandering among the koi and turtles on the grounds of Greystone Mansion & Gardens, the most expensive estate in California when it was built by Edward Doheny, who inspired Upton Sinclair’s book, "Oil!" and its film adaptation, There Will Be Blood).

Nearby is "Department Store Row" on Wilshire Boulevard, where the store windows of Barneys New York, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus reflect the gleaming silhouettes of passing Ferraris and Lamborghinis. You don’t always luxuriate this hard, but when you do, you do it in Beverly Hills.

You’re literally tripping over world-famous dining spots—Spago, The Ivy, Crustacean with its koi pond in the floor—but frankly, one of the most exciting places at dinner time is right back at your hotel. Send your senses on a magical mystery tour at The Bazaar by José Andrés, set in an indoor piazza designed by Philippe Starck, where cooking is elevated to culinary art. Oysters are paired with hibiscus and vanilla oil. Caprésé salad is reimagined with “liquid mozzarella.” Steak lovers will enjoy the coffee-rubbed American Wagyu Flat Iron, served with passion fruit and pearl onions.

As an SLS guest, you’re guaranteed VIP access to all the nightclubs in the SBE brand, which includes glitzy spots like Sayers Club and Hyde Lounge. But you'd rather head up to Altitude, the SLS hotel’s poolside lounge. You order a nightcap— a Copper Passion cocktail, a blend of passion fruit purée, vodka, and a rosé cava and gaze out toward the Hills, noticing the red lights snaking along the clogged Sunset Strip. You sigh and sip on your drink, thankful to be in Beverly Hills. Life’s just so civilized here, isn’t it?
