Your three favorite things: live music, iconic architecture and nature, preferably served all at once. Which explains your absolute favorite place on earth: the Hollywood Bowl. Life-altering performances? Check. Lloyd Wright shell? Check. Trees and stars to die for in the largest natural outdoor amphitheater in the United States? Check. You can measure your life’s peaks by the shows you’ve seen there—Prince in 1997, Kylie in 2009, Lana Del Rey with Courtney Love in 2015 and yes, The Muppets in 2017. These days, you know better than to try and brave the post-show traffic on Hollywood and Highland—instead, you book yourself in at the Hilton Garden Inn Los Angeles/Hollywood, located a few steps from the iconic venue, and clearly the most convenient place to unwind after yet another awe-inspiring al fresco musical experience.

This time, you’ve got tickets for The Empire Strikes Back in concert on August 9 - how could you miss John Williams’ iconic score performed live-to-picture on the Bowl’s big screens? You and your lightsaber check in to the Hilton Garden Inn—always clean, modern and welcoming—and your room overlooks the pool, with its cute faux Hollywood Sign.

With a few hours to go before showtime, you decide to make the most of your hyper-walkable location. You’re in the beating heart of Hollywood, so you stroll a few minutes down Highland Avenue, into the Hollywood & Highland mall, and take a selfie on the iconic steps of the Dolby Theatre, home of the Oscars.

You’re meeting some fellow Princess Leias in the park next to the Bowl—usually, you’ll picnic there before the show, but tonight you’ve ordered dinner in advance to be served at your box, featuring canvas-covered collapsible chairs in groups of 4 or 6 surrounded by wooden partitions. Enveloped by John Williams' soaring score, you feast on offerings by James Beard Award winning chef Suzanne Goin (a.o.c., Lucques, Tavern), and much like—spoiler alert—Luke’s hand, it feels like you’re floating up into the starry cosmos.

When the show’s over, everyone else must come down to earth, but not you—you glide, bursting with the evening’s magic, toward the soft, warm bed that awaits you just 0.3 miles down the hill. There, you sleep soundly, with no reported disturbances in the Force…
