As summer comes to a close, we’re putting the finishing touches on our fifth annual Market Outlook Forum taking place at the new InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown on Wednesday, August 30.
Our team of tourism experts has curated a truly informative program packed with market research and current industry trends. You’ll also hear from an incredible lineup of guest speakers including Roger Dow, president & CEO of U.S. Travel Association; William Chun, deputy mayor of economic development for Mayor Garcetti; Deborah Flint, CEO of Los Angeles World Airports; and Phillip A. Washington, CEO of Metro.
Each attendee will receive L.A. Tourism’s 2017 Marketing and Planning Resource, specially designed for marketing strategy and budget planning. It’s filled with key industry data and up-to-date consumer insights that will better prepare you for L.A.’s record tourism growth.
If you haven’t already, be sure to sign up through the exclusive invitation we sent to your inbox. Market Outlook Forum is complimentary for our valued members and I hope to see you there.
I’m delighted to share L.A. County’s leisure and hospitality sector continues to thrive with 526,600 reported jobs during June 2017. The industry added 6,600 jobs from the month prior, the largest increase of the county’s 11 super sectors. The sector averaged 515,922 jobs (a 3.1% year-over-year increase) for FY 16/17, reaffirming tourism as a key economic driver for the Los Angeles area.
These are just a few of the many updates on L.A. Tourism and our industry we have for you this month. As always, we’ll be here, working on behalf of all of our members and partners to keep the world coming to Los Angeles.
