Blast Off: the Space Shuttle Endeavour at the California Science Center


Following its cross-country flight from Florida, and a two-day trek through the streets of Los Angeles, the U.S. Space Shuttle Endeavour is ready to call the California Science Center home.  On Oct. 30, the Samuel Oschin Space Shuttle Endeavour Display Pavilion at the California Science Center will open to the public, offering guests a chance to view the shuttle up close. The pavilion will also feature the California Story gallery, showcasing images and artifacts from the shuttle’s history. Viewing the Space Shuttle Endeavour requires a timed ticket. The California Science Center is offering several ticket options, including packages with IMAX, Cleopatra, or Endeavour-only. Online tickets are available at www.californiasciencecenter.org.  Telephone ticket sales are also available, by calling 213.744.2019 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. PST daily.  The California Science Center is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. The Samuel Oschin Space Shuttle Endeavour Display Pavilion will have extended hours from Oct. 30 through Nov. 30 only. Last entry time will be 4:45 p.m. Exhibit closes promptly at 6:00 p.m.  As of Dec. 1, the Center will resume its normal 5:00 p.m. closing time.
