A Note from TMD Chairman, Javier Cano - September 2020

Frieze Los Angeles 2024
Dear TMD Hoteliers,First and foremost, I hope this note finds you well during these challenging circumstances. We continue to see steady declines of key COVID-19 indicators across L.A. County, which is encouraging news for responsibly reopening sectors of our tourism economy. To ensure our recovery is sustainable, we thank you for continuing to do your part – both personally and professionally. On behalf of the TMD, Los Angeles Tourism successfully launched its LA❤ program two weeks ago, inviting Angelenos to begin planning a “staycation” in their own backyard. This collective effort aims to responsibly jump-start our local tourism economy with a diverse collection of more than 100 special offers from a variety of TMD Hotels, restaurants, attractions and tours for Angelenos safely rediscover all that L.A. has to offer.Additionally this week, Los Angeles Tourism launched their new digital campaign in key drive markets including Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Barbara and Fresno, encouraging travelers to responsibly visit our City of Angels. You can view one of the newest spots here.I highly encourage you to virtually attend the upcoming TMD annual meeting on Thursday, September 17 from 1:00PM – 2:30PM. Remember, this is your Tourism Marketing District and your ideas and feedback are critical to the sales and marketing programming and initiatives put forth to accelerate the recovery of our Los Angeles TMD hotels.
