My Mom Is Here (9 PM):
Your mom’s favorite rock band is hitting the road this August with their debut EP in tow. My Mom Is Here—formed by Columbia University students Sam Seiff (Vocals), Nick Sare (Keys), Ryan Daar (Bass), Aidan Speckhard (Drums), and Stephen Park (Guitar)—has been packing out iconic NYC venues like Baby’s All Right, Nublu, and Mercury Lounge, recently opening for Philly brass juggernaut Snacktime.

Their debut EP, Baby Steps, spans everything from the bittersweet acoustic single “You Just Won’t Give Me Love” to the sci-fi-inspired funk banger “Take Me To Your Leader,” complete with a music video starring Sam’s real-life grandma. From nostalgic mashups (think: “Peg” meets “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”) to innovative fusion originals, My Mom Is Here delivers a set that’s high-energy, weird, and heartfelt.

3spce (8 PM):
3spce from Los Angeles, California captures musical virtuosity and delivers it in a grooving package. Guitarist Mike Hoffmann, known for being highly expressive fiery playing, has explored many different idioms with international artists such as Tony Williams, John Handy, Ruben Blades, Francis X, Ed Mann and the past 20 years as a founding member of Bad Haggis.

Greg Wishon’s slapping/tapping patterns on an extended range bass and Colin Rosso’s flawless drumming mesh together to create a machine-like foundation. 3spce’s musical vision covers a wide gamut of original and classic tunes, all with a unique interpretation of both instrumental and vocal tracks. This dynamic trio creates a hearing is believing experience as they explore new musical territory.
