Disparition: Summer Solis

More than a decade ago, Disparition began shaping the eerie, immersive sonic worlds that would become a signature of the groundbreaking podcast Welcome to Night Vale. Drawing from ambient electronica, post-rock, and cinematic minimalism, his sound has grown into something stranger and more expansive—blending analog synths, field recordings, and live keys into lush, time-bending compositions. He’s scored not only Night Vale and Alice Isn’t Dead, but also a wave of genre-defying podcasts and stage shows that explore the edges of narrative and sound. Alongside this body of work, he’s also an in-demand session musician and live collaborator—regularly recording with Bauhaus’s David J and touring with Raqia, a three-piece new-age band known for ambient improvisation and textured minimalism.

After years of touring as Night Vale’s live scorer and performing with Raqia, Disparition steps into the foreground with Summer Solis, his first solo show in years. Set in the atmospheric Visionarium in South Pasadena, this rare performance promises a golden-hour journey through ambient textures, experimental electronics, and real-time sonic world-building—equal parts meditation and séance.
