From his drawings to his installation works, artist Cosmo Whyte frequently draws upon his Caribbean roots through both material and image. In this talk, Whyte will share how he investigates the broad complexities of Black diasporic and migrant experiences to create work that feels simultaneously familiar and dislocating while reflecting the multiplicity and fluidity of identity. Whyte is an assistant professor at the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture, and has had recent solo exhibitions at The Arts Club of Chicago, ICA San Diego, and MOCA Georgia.
