Head south on Hill Street one block and then turn left onto 2nd Avenue. Redwood Bar & Grill is about halfway down the block on the south side of the street. In 500 Days of Summer, this serves as the bar where Tom, Summer, and coworkers indulge in drunken karaoke. Click here to read more about the different locations featured in the movie.

Inside, a playful nautical theme, good drinks and a fairly extensive menu welcome guests who want to chill out in a seafaring setting decorated with wooden barrels, rope and rigging, a ceiling painted to look like semaphore flags and a skull and bones display over the bar. DJs and the occasional live band provide entertainment on a tiny makeshift stage.

Two blocks east on 2nd Street is The Edison, which Esquire magazine named one of the best new bars in America. Formerly a private power plant, this one-of-a-kind underground lounge has retained the industrial aesthetic, mixing it with a Roaring 20s theme.

There's no better way to finish out the night than a satisfying late-night meal at Cole's Original French Dip, one of LA's oldest restaurants. You'll be partaking in a venerable Los Angeles tradition with an "original" French dip sandwich in the restaurant's early 1900s decor.
