Ashes to Films Festival and Summit (OPENING DAY)
(THROUGH JAN. 11) The Ashes to Films Festival will showcase 40+ films, including films made by fire-impacted artists, Ashes to Films grantees, as well as short films and select features created by artists who have a story of resilience to share. The festival will be held at the historic Huron Substation in the Cypress Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, and will feature screenings, Q&As, panels, and receptions.
The festival program includes:
- 9 A2F short films by Ashes to Films filmmakers directly affected by the wildfires
- 16 A2F short films by fire-affected teens from the Ashes to Films Young Filmmakers Program, created in partnership with New York Film Academy
Additional short and feature films from around the world exploring stories of resilience, recovery, and creative perseverance.
Each screening block includes filmmaker Q&As and conversations about the challenges - and choices - that shaped their work.
The Ashes To Films and Stay In LA Wildfire Summit JAN 7th - brings together artists, advocates, industry leaders, and community members to reflect on the impact of the recent wildfires on Los Angeles - and to explore pathways forward for recovery, sustainability, and keeping creative workers in the city.
