NEWEST HOTEL UPDATES
Hilton Los Angeles Airport Renovations (LAX)
Hilton Los Angeles Airport has embarked on a $50 million renovation of its 1,234-room hotel, located close to the Los Angeles International Airport, SoFi Stadium, Intuit Dome, and The Kia Forum. Guest accommodations will be fully refreshed, with all two-double-bed rooms converted to two-queen-bed configurations. The full project is slated for completion before the 2026 FIFA World Cup (June 2026).
Anthem Hotel (South Los Angeles)
Next to the Intuit Dome along Century Boulevard, the Anthem Hotel is surrounded by entertainment. The Kia Forum, SoFi Stadium, and more are within a two-mile radius. Enjoy views of Inglewood from the rooftop bar and restaurant and chill out enjoy their resort-style outdoor swimming pool and hot tub with umbrella service. The hotel features 179 rooms and suites.
The Hôtel Lili (Beverly Hills)

Cameo Beverly Hills (Westside)
The reimagined and recently reopened Cameo Beverly Hills, part of Hilton’s LXR Hotels & Resorts collection, is a modern haven where Old Hollywood glamour meets modern sophistication. Hotel Lucile is a 25-room boutique hotel in the heart of Silver Lake by Casetta. Housed in a 1931 church building, the space has been reimagined to include a restaurant and bar, pool, rooftop lounge and more. Public Hotel (West Hollywood)
Spring 2026
Hotelier Ian Schrager announced plans to open a new location of his “luxury for all” hotel brand, PUBLIC, in West Hollywood opening this Summer. The 137-room hotel will be located on the Sunset Strip in a landmark building designed by Schrager in collaboration with British architect John Pawson. The property will include a pool, a social lobby, and three restaurants and entertainment outlets. A 16,000-square-foot landscaped rooftop terrace will feature open-air views of Los Angeles.

Situated 25 minutes on foot from Crypto.com Arena, Hotel Clark Los Angeles features Wi-Fi throughout the property and a private parking lot on site. The surrounding area includes Olvera Street and Civic Center/Grand Park Metro station within close proximity of this boutique hotel. Kali Hotel and Rooftop (Hollywood Park)
September 2026
KPC Development Company announces its latest project, Kali Hotel and Rooftop, Autograph Collection, a landmark lifestyle hotel at Hollywood Park in Inglewood. The 300-key hotel will be adjacent to SoFi Stadium and YouTube Theater, within walking distance of Intuit Dome and Kia Forum, and four miles from Los Angeles International Airport.
Jordan San Gabriel (San Gabriel Valley)
September 2026
The former Hyatt Place property in San Gabriel is being redeveloped and rebranded under Hilton’s Curio Collection as the Jordan San Gabriel. The 212-room hotel, which is located across the street from the San Gabriel Square Mall, is slated to open in September2026.

The hotel is targeting a 2026 opening. The Mama Shelter Downtown LA will be located in the Fashion District, beside the Los Angeles Flower District. It will offer 145 modern rooms and four suites, as well as two restaurants including a rooftop site.
Aman Beverly Hills (Beverly Hills)
2027
Swiss hotelier Aman has announced plans for a luxury hotel to be developed near the intersection of Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards. The Aman Beverly Hills will have 78 all-suite rooms and fewer than 200 Aman-branded luxury condominiums. The hotel, to be located on the old Robinsons-May department store site that’s just west of the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills and was previously earmarked for a hotel under China’s Wanda brand, will be part of the 17.5-acre One Beverly Hills project.
MOB Hotel (Downtown)
2027
Coming to LA in 2027, the MOB Hotel will be situated next to the Dodger Stadium, 10 minutes from downtown LA. The hotel will feature 160 rooms, a rooftop bar-restaurant.
Pan Am Hotel (Greater Los Angeles)
2026
The Pan Am Hotel is expected to open in mid-2026, as part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection. The hotel will be located at the Citadel Outlets.
LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (LAX)
Los Angeles Airport is undergoing a multi-billion-dollar modernization, improving speed, flow and general traveler experience. Improved pedestrian connections, signage, and wayfinding throughout the Central Terminal Area are to come. Current Terminal updates include:
- Midfield Satellite Concourse South: Featuring a 150,000 sq ft extension of the West Gates at Tom Bradley International Terminal, including eight new gates for narrow body aircraft.
- Terminals 2 & 3: Now operates as a unified, 27-gate complex featuring state-of-the-art technology and amenities
- Terminal 5: Now closed and undergoing a full rebuild, reopening in 2028

The SKYLINK (formerly the Automated People Mover (APM)) is the centerpiece of LAX’s multibillion dollar Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) which will enhance the traveler experience, give guests time-certain access to terminals and provide the long-awaited connection to the regional transportation system. It will debut to the public in 2026, connecting terminals, parking, rental cars and the Metro system via elevated electric train. It will run 24/7 with trains every 2 minutes during peak.
- The SKYLINK will feature three stops total including:
- Economy Parking
- Metro’s new LAX/Metro Transit Center: Opened June 2025 and provides direct connections to the Metro C and K Lines, with a free airport shuttle making travel to and from LAX easier than ever
- LAX Rental Car Center: Opened March 2026 and brings all 12 on-airport rental car companies into one 6.4-million-square-foot facility, simplifying pickup and return for travelers.
TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURE
Metro D Line Subway Extension Project - May 8th
Metro is expanding its rail system to the Westside with the D Line Subway Extension Project. This highly anticipated new addition to Metro’s network will add a total of seven new stations and a reliable, high-speed connection between Downtown and the Westside. After a decade of construction, the new D Line subway will open on May 8th. The 4-mile Metro D Line Extension (Section 1) will go from Wilshire/Western in Koreatown all the way to La Cienega/Wilshire in Beverly Hills. The project includes three new stations: Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega. All stations are expected to be open in time for the 2028 Olympics and Paralympics Games.
The L.A. Convention Center (LACC) is undergoing a major expansion and modernization. This public infrastructure investment will create more than 15,000 jobs, add $652 million in General Fund tax revenue over 30 years and draw in over $150 million in additional visitor spending each year. Work on the project is expected to be completed by 2029, with a pause of construction 2028 to allow the Convention Center to serve as an event venue in the Olympic games. Hollywood Boulevard has started to undergo a major revamp in hopes of making it safer for pedestrians and bicyclists while revitalizing businesses. Named “Access to Hollywood,” the project will focus on a 3.6-mile stretch that will include removing some car lanes to install protected bike lanes and dedicated bus lanes, improving crosswalks and widening sidewalks. Progress has been made with new 2.1 miles of parking-protected bike lanes, redesigned street layout to improve safety and decrease speeding and newly painted crosswalks, curbs and street lanes.
SPORTS
Los Angeles is preparing to take center stage as a premier host city for the FIFA World Cup, while building momentum towards the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic games. During the World Cup, the city will host eight action-packed matches, including the U.S. Men’s Opening Match and the United States Opening Ceremony at SoFi Stadium, spotlighting LA on a global stage.
Los Angeles counts down to hosting eight FIFA World Cup matches this Summer. In addition to the matches, the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee will host the FIFA Fan Festival™ and Fan Zones to bring the excitement of the world’s largest single-sport event to neighborhoods across the region. The FIFA Fan Festival will transform the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum into a global celebration of football, culture, and community. Across the region, the Los Angeles World Cup Fan Zones will bring live match viewing and immersive fan experiences closer to neighborhoods throughout LA County. Global soccer fans will also be able to enjoy a 39-day calendar of World Cup-related activities across Los Angeles when the tournament takes place June 11 - July 19, 2026.

The Los Angeles Sparks New Practice Facility: The three-time WNBA Champions announced plans to build a world-class training and practice facility in El Segundo scheduled to open in 2027. Purpose-built in partnership with global architecture and design firm Gensler, the 55,000-square-foot facility embodies the Sparks’ commitment to innovation, performance, and the holistic well-being of its players. At $150 million, it represents the largest investment to date in the history of women’s sports for a single team.
Los Angeles Dodgers Baseball: The LA Dodgers are back and the stadium’s visitor experience continues to improve with tours offered in a variety of languages, a number of new advancements and food items on deck and upgrades to Dodger team stores for fans to enjoy, including a newly constructed team store and a merchandise truck that will be parked on Vin Scully Avenue before the game for fans to access outside of the stadium. Hermon’s (Highland Park)
A former church banquet hall in Hermon, a neighborhood in Northeast Los Angeles, has taken on a new life as a New American, steakhouse-leaning restaurant. The menu spans dishes like coconut tiger prawns nested in sweet chile ’nduja sauce, herb-dotted leafy green salad dressed with miso mustard vinaigrette, and bacon-and-cheese-loaded potato fritters. Mains include steak frites with a six-ounce hanger steak, a two-sheet lasagna vongole, and ragu Bolognese.
Bar di Bello (Silverlake)
Bar di Bello is a new Milan-inspired bar and restaurant in the trendy Silver Lake’s Sunset Row development. The menu at Bar di Bello “bar of beauty,” opens with cocktails such as the tomato water and gin-based Greenhouse Martini and the raspberry balsamic-tinged Prima Donna with gin. Larger main dishes include trofie alla Genovese with twists of pasta spun in pesto and a chicken cutlet topped with a sauce of shallots, guanciale, and capers reminiscent of Milanese.
Le Draq (DTLA)
Chef Josef Centeno has flipped his Downtown restaurant Bar Amá into Le Dräq, a new restaurant that offers dishes from Bar Amá, the former Bäco Mercat, and Takoria. Centono’s signature bäco returns to the slate, now filled with Oaxacan cheese, alongside the chef’s take on pozole as well as a new burgers.
El Moro (Echo Park)
After much anticipation, Mexico City’s iconic churrería El Moro opened in Echo Park at the end of January. El Moro has been serving cinnamon-dusted fried treats since the 1930s, and after an expansion in Northgate Gonzalez's food hall in Costa Mesa in 2023, this is their first standalone U.S. shop in Echo Park.
Vandell (Los Feliz)
Los Feliz’s new cocktail bar, Vandell, takes over the former Nossa space with a menu of inventive cocktails. Vandell’s menu features 27 cocktails, 13 original and 14 variations on classics. The selection ranges from light aperitifs and highballs to boozy cocktails.
Lapaba (Koreatown)
Short for “La Pasta Bar,” this new concept blends Italian and Korean flavors, think dishes like kimchi suppli stuffed with Spam and mozzarella, cappelletti in a galbi broth with mandu filling, and bucatini alla’Amatriciana made with jjajang (black bean paste).
The Night We Met (Mid-Wilshire)
The minds behind Met Her at a Bar, Met Him at a Bar, and Her Thai have expanded their mid-Wilshire mini-empire with the Night We Met. The new restaurant serves an Asian diasporic menu that features dishes such as tuna crudo, soft shell crab curry, crying tiger rib-eye, and Hong Kong fried rice.
Badmaash (Venice)
Modern Indian restaurant Badmaash will soon open up in Venice on Abbot Kinney this Summer. The new Badmaash will reflect a slight shift in sensibilities from the all-out carb-and-cheese fest on the original Downtown menu.
Neighborly (Brentwood)
Neighborly is a new multi-restaurant food hall and marketplace that originated in Westlake Village =now opened a new location in Brentwood. The new Neighborly brings wraps from celebrated Glendale kebab stand Mini Kabob, gluten-free tenders from Questlove’s Mixtape, Sicilian pizza from Palermo Pizza Club, salad in all forms from What’s Gaby Cooking, and an array of market goods to the neighborhood.
Mr. Rivers Coffee (Mar Vista)
Mr. Rivers Coffee is a new coffee shop in Mar Vista with their house specialty being a Vietnamese coffee with sweetened condensed milk and salted foam. Rotating pastries and breakfast items can also be found at Mr. Rivers including quiche, french toast, and yogurt bowls.
Very Thai (Century City)
This March, Very Thai opened in Century City Mall with a full bar, expansive patio, private dining room and a main dining room with over 5,000 square feet. Very Thai’s menu features traditional Thai dishes including sesame seed-pocked shrimp toast, lightly fried soft-shell crab and grilled cod in banana leaf.
Duke’s Malibu (Malibu)
Duke’s Malibu officially reopened this March, following a 14-month closure due to the fire and mudslide damage in 2025. The restaurant has been renovated and offers a limited all-day menu including Kona sticky ribs and coconut shrimp.
Brunch at Mírate (Los Feliz)
Award-winning, Los Angeles favorite, Mírate has debuted a new brunch menu from Executive Chef Alan Sanz. Inspired by his childhood in Mexico City, the menu offers a playful and personal take on Mexican classics through a California lens. Summer 2026
Located in San Pedro, West Harbor is a new and vibrant waterfront destination for dining, shopping, entertainment and extraordinary experiences. The waterfront is partially open with the San Pedro Fish Market, and the grand opening will be in Summer 2026. West Harbor features an expansive harborside promenade and the longest courtesy dock in Southern California. Once open, West Harbor will feature a one-mile-long waterfront promenade, a 1,200-linear-foot public dock for boat access, more than 200,000 square feet of waterfront attractions and excursions, 6,200 seat amphitheater and many other amenities and experiences.
Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center
The Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center is the primary component of Phase III of the California Science Center's three-decade Master Plan. The Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center will dramatically expand the footprint and impact of the California Science Center, adding 200,000 square feet of space for exhibits, events and educational programs, and include three multi-level galleries – Air, Space and Shuttle – spanning four floors of exhibit space.
“Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” at Universal Studios Hollywood
Summer 2026
Universal Studios Hollywood will debut its first-ever high-speed outdoor roller coaster “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift”. The dynamic new thrill ride, themed to Universal Pictures ’blockbuster film saga, Fast & Furious, will elevate the guest experience with innovative and technological achievements never previously employed in a rollercoaster. “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” will feature 360-degree rotation of the individual ride vehicles as guests experience a high-speed chase exceeding 72 mph.

Just south of the 10 Freeway in West Adams, the Museum of Ice Cream's permanent Los Angeles home is taking shape. On track to open in 2026, the new Museum of Ice Cream will include 15 interactive installations, including a 100-foot-long double helix slide that extends the three-story height of the building, a Santa Monica Pier-themed carnival experience, a tiki bar, and the world's largest sprinkle pool.
Catch the magic that started it all as Cosm partners with Warner Bros. Pictures, Little Cinema, and MakeMake to present the family-friendly classic to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on Cosm’s state-of-the-art 87-foot diameter 12K+ LED domes.

60th Anniversary of LACMA (Mid-Wilshire)
LACMA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, is marking its 60th anniversary this year. The anniversary is being celebrated with the unveiling of a new building, the David Geffen Galleries, which is slated to open in April 2026. The museum also has a new plaza and outdoor art installations, including Mariana Castillo Deball's "Feathered Changes.”

David Geffen Galleries at LACMA (Mid-Wilshire)
LACMA prepares to showcase one of the most significant museum transformations in April 2026 (public opening in May). The new 110,000 sq ft of gallery space will be LACMA’s new home for its permanent collection. Spanning Wilshire Boulevard, the elevated, 900-foot-long exhibition space will enable LACMA to present art from all cultures and eras on a single level without hierarchies or prescribed visitor pathways, redefining the museum experience by embracing new perspectives on art, history, and Los Angeles itself.
LA Pride (Hollywood)

Celebrate Los Angeles Pride in Hollywood Boulevard to see the 56th Annual LA Pride Parade with over 140 colorful bands, dancers, floats and more. Other key celebrations include the LA Pride Village, WeHo OUTLOUD Music Festival, and multiple community nights to celebrate LGBTQ+ joy.
Getty Center Modernization (Westside)
The historic Getty Center will undergo a series of updates to elevate visitor experience, enhance accessibility and supper the long-term look of the iconic campus. The Center will temporarily close the campus to the public in March 2027 and reopen in 2028.
The Broad Expansion (DTLA)
The Broad is undergoing a $100 million expansion and will remain open during construction. The Broad’s future gallery and programming space will bring visitors closer to the work of artists you can see only at The Broad—by Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jeff Koons, Kara Walker, and so many others—as well as artists new to the collection—such as Cauleen Smith, Lauren Halsey, and Patrick Martinez. New, outdoor, top-floor courtyards, and flexible live programming spaces to encounter boundary-breaking performances and concerts, will round out a visit to The Broad of the future. The new building will open to the public before Los Angeles hosts the 2028 Summer Olympics. General admission will continue to be free following the project.

Founded by philanthropist and filmmaker George Lucas and his wife Mellody Hobson, Co-CEO and President of Ariel Investments, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art will focus on the universal art of visual storytelling. The museum will present exhibitions for diverse public audiences unpacking visual storytelling in its richness and complexity through dynamic learning opportunities and public programs. Designed by renowned architect Ma Yansong and under construction in Los Angeles’s Exposition Park, the museum will feature expansive galleries, state-of-the-art cinematic theaters, dedicated spaces for learning and engagement, a new public green space, restaurants, retail and event spaces.
Dataland (Downtown)

Refik Anadol Studio presents DATALAND, the world’s first Museum of AI Arts, which is set to open on June 20, 2026 at The Grand LA, the Frank Gehry-designed development in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. DATALAND features art experiences blending human imagination and artificial intelligence, establishing a new model for artistic expression at the onset of the digital age.
Destination Crenshaw (South LA)
Under Construction
Destination Crenshaw is the largest public/private Black art program in the nation, stamping a 1.3-mile stretch of Crenshaw Boulevard with an infrastructure project that includes beautifully designed community spaces, landscaping, and newly planted trees, and 100 commissioned works by Black artists. While elevating Black culture, Destination Crenshaw will also boost the community through economic development, job creation and environmental healing.

La Brea Tar Pits Renovation (Mid-Wilshire)
The Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County, which oversees La Brea Tar Pits, is engaged in a multi-year plan to reimagine the 13-acre site, the first renovation in a half-century since the museum at La Brea Tar Pits opened to the public in 1977. From the park to the exhibition spaces to research and collection facilities, the major transformation, will invite visitors of all ages to better witness and engage with the scientific process and enjoy the beautiful grounds of this world-famous destination.

OUTDOORS & WELLNESS
Los Angeles is known for its miles of pristine beaches, outdoor exploration, and mindful wellness escapes. Following the wildfires in 2025, most closed hiking parks have now reopened. Recently opened wellness and fitness centers can also be found across LA.
Reopened Hiking Trails
Several hiking trails and campgrounds in the Angeles National Forest and near Malibu, have reopened in early 2026 following closures from the Eaton and Bridge fires. Key reopened areas include the Chantry Flat Recreation Area, Sturtevant Loop, and Millard Canyon Falls, offering hikers a chance to see forest recovery.
Ongoing: Expanding Green Space in LA
Los Angeles County is investing $17 million to add 623 acres of new parkland, with funds from the Measure A parcel tax. This initiative, which includes trail restoration and wildfire resilience grants, aims to benefit communities impacted by the 2025 wildfires, especially those lacking access to open space. The funding will support 13 grant recipients for projects such as land acquisitions, new urban parks, and the preservation of open space.

Olive Young (Pasadena & Century City)
Korea’s top K-beauty retailer is landing in LA this May. It’s first two U.S. stores will open in Los Angeles this May 2026. The flagship location will be in Old Town Pasadena, with their second location in Westfield Century City. The stores will feature over 200 Korean beauty brands including an AI-powered skin analysis.
