Super Bowl LVI to Deliver up to $477 Million to Local Economy

The TMD, as a sponsor of ChampionLA, is excited to share with you a new report issued October 21st by Micronomics Economic Research and Consulting outlining significant qualitative and quantitative gains for Los Angeles when the region hosts Super Bowl LVI.  The region can expect as much as $477.5 million in total economic upside, including thousands of new job opportunities in the event production and hospitality sector plus major contracts for local businesses, according to the economic projections. 

The influx of visitor spending around the numerous events leading up to the Big Game on Feb. 13, 2022, could be a turning point in Los Angeles region’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, especially for hard-hit industries by the pandemic like restaurants and hotels, the report finds.  Thousands of visitors to regional hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues and retail businesses could generate up to 4,700 new annual jobs in the L.A. region.
