The Best Los Angeles Nightlife: Nov. 4-10, 2024

The week of November 4 gets off to a strong start with Chicano Batman’s sold-out farewell show at The Mayan. On the same night, Boris returns to Los Angeles to continue their 25th anniversary celebration of Amplifier Worship with a sold-out show at Zebulon. Late in the week, LCD Soundsystem moves their LA residency to the Hollywood Palladium, where the band will play four sold-out nights, and The Blood Brothers bring their reunion tour to The Belasco for two sold-out shows.
There are still tickets available for loads of concerts and club nights happening in Los Angeles this week, including dance-rock favorites !!! and Yacht at The Regent, Vince Staples at The Shrine, Gesaffelstein at the Forum, Boys Noize at Avalon and The Psychedelic Furs & The Jesus and Mary Chain at YouTube Theater. The Shrine has a big weekend in store with Róisín Murphy on Thursday night, The The on Friday and Carl Cox on Saturday. And for those who have been waiting patiently through the Halloween season to blast “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Mariah Carey brings her Christmas show to the Hollywood Bowl on Friday night. Marc Rebillet - The Belasco (Nov. 4)
Marc Rebillet, the musician who rose to fame via YouTube and puts his unique, improvisational spin on everything from laidback funk to high energy house, heads to The Belasco on Monday, November 4.

Ask Carol - Gold-Diggers (Nov. 5)
Ask Carol hails from Norway, but the Western U.S. shines through on their 2023 single, “Desert” and the recently released “Wind in My Hair.” Catch the duo’s current U.S. tour when they play at Gold-Diggers on Tuesday, November 5. Ask Carol will be joined by LA-based psyche band Ultraviolet Communication and singers Kalie Shorr and Iris IRS. Tickets at Dice.

!!! & Yacht - The Regent (Nov. 6)
For more than 25 years, !!! (pronounced “chk chk chk”) has been melding rock and various genres of dance music that transforms their live shows into a full-blown party. The band will bring the vibe to Downtown LA’s Regent Theatre on Wednesday, November 6. Opening the show is local dance-rock outfit Yacht, whose latest full-length New Release came out in August. Vince Staples - Shrine Expo Hall (Nov. 6)
As his Black in America tour nears its conclusion, Vince Staples heads to the Shrine Expo Hall for a hometown show. The critically acclaimed rapper, who released his latest album, Dark Times, in May, will be joined by Baby Rose, whose tremendous vocals are on display on her recent EP, Slow Burn. Gram Parsons Birthday Tribute - Venice West (Nov. 6)
More than a half-century after his death, Gram Parsons’ influence on the “cosmic American music” sound he championed can still be felt across Los Angeles. On November 6, The Sin City Allstars present a stacked lineup of performers to honor the late musician’s 78th birthday at The Venice West with The Doohickeys opening the night. Tickets at Ticketweb.

Rendez Vous - 1720 (Nov. 7)
With a sound that harks back to the 1990s heyday of bands like Smashing Pumpkins and Sonic Youth, French band Rendez Vous dropped their most recent album, Downcast, last spring. They’'re finishing up the U.S. stretch of their current tour at 1720 on Thursday, November 7. Tickets to the all-ages show at Etix.

Róisín Murphy - Shrine Expo Hall (Nov. 7)
As half of Moloko, Róisín Murphy’s voice rang across turn-of-the-millennium dance floors with hits like the now-classic banger “Sing It Back.” As a solo artist, Murphy has carved out a niche with her thoughtful, forward-minded approach to disco. She kickstarted this decade with the brilliant Róisín Machine, and followed it up last year with the sublime Hit Parade. And if the tunes weren’t enough, Murphy puts on a stunning live show too. Mariah Carey’s Christmas Time - Hollywood Bowl (Nov. 8)
With Halloween in the rearview mirror, the Queen of Christmas has emerged and is ready for her cross-country slay-ride. Mariah Carey brings her Christmas Time Tour to the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, November 8. While this year marks the 30th anniversary of Carey’s seasonal hit album, Merry Christmas, you can expect to hear more than just “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on this outing. The The - Shrine Auditorium (Nov. 8)
Throughout the 1980s and into the ‘90s, The The released acclaimed albums like Infected, Mind Bomb and Dusk. After a 25-year hiatus, Matt Johnson has brought back The The with the recently released album, Ensoulment. The coinciding tour hits Downtown LA's Shrine Auditorium on Friday, November 8. La Luz - Lodge Room (Nov. 8)
Seattle’s La Luz headlines the first of two nights at Highland Park’s Lodge Room on Friday, November 8. The harmony-heavy psyche outfit, who released their fifth full-length, News of the Universe, last spring, will be joined by Texas-based Tele Novella, who have gained a cult following for their vintage-tinged indie pop and quirky videos.

Gesaffelstein - Kia Forum (Nov. 8)
Earlier this year, Gesaffelstein, the French producer known for his collaborations with the likes of Kanye West, The Weeknd and, most recently, Charli XCX, released his third solo album, Gamma, a rollicking synth-rock ride with nods to Kraftwerk, new wave and electroclash. Carl Cox - Shrine Expo Hall (Nov. 9)
From the early days of the U.K. rave scene to today, Carl Cox has stood out as one of the club world’s great talents. The DJ/producer heads to Shrine Expo Hall on Saturday, November 9 for a hybrid live set. With a 360-degree “in the round” layout, this is a great opportunity to really feel the energy surrounding the legendary DJ. Tickets at AXS.

The Psychedelic Furs & The Jesus and Mary Chain - YouTube Theater (Nov. 9)
Two profoundly influential bands of the 1980s alternative era have joined forces for a coast-to-coast trek. The Psychedelic Furs, whose most recent album, Made of Rain, came out in 2020; and The Jesus and Mary Chain, who dropped Glasgow Eyes earlier this year, have been touring the U.S. and Canada together since late September.
